Karl Sheffer Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 Here is my first build for 2007. I finished this just in time for NNL East a couple weeks ago. I used the Boss Nova roof on a 66 Nova body. The hood is from PSF Hobbies. Wheels and tires are from the 66 Chevelle wagon kit. Paint is Tamiya Mica Red over Tamiya Semi Gloss Black. Scratchbuilt the grill using Evergreen strip and rechromed it using Alclad from the spray can. Grill emblem is photoreduced from a pic on the web. The seats were changed to 1967 pattern. Engine is the from the kit with a 69 Camaro Cross Ram induction system.
Dragon7665 Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 Wow that looks Great 8) Longtime Acadian and Beaumont Fan here, hope that I can get mine to come out that good, when I do it! Any rear pics of the taillight are :?:
mademan Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 wow, very nice build! I have a 62 nova wagon myself (real one) that I will be building up this summer. check out my Nova builds in the On the work bench section. , Mike
Andy Wyatt Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 NICE!! I've been waiting to see pics of this one finished! Will it be at Mid Atlantic NNL this year?
Randy Kern Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 That's pretty cool, Karl. I also saw that at the NNL East. Love them wagons! You'll also have to post your Willys wagon (a favorite of mine) that you built as a woodie. Welcome to the forum.
Ariel Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 Very understated model at the NNL. I spoke about this model on the way home. It was one of my favorites. You should do a how to on how you made the grill. Ariel
Karl Sheffer Posted April 9, 2007 Author Posted April 9, 2007 Dragon7665 - Here is a shot from the rear. I think I made the rear quarter panel fins a little too high (the wagon fins are more horizontal than the 2 door), plus the fact that the kit taillights appear to be a bit too wide and short for the wagon. That filler piece under the taillights should be right above the bumper. Notice that the backup lights are in the bumper. The license plate reads NOT NOVA. Andy, I'm still trying to work out a trip to MAMA in May. I hope to make it.
Dragon7665 Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 Still looks like you did a great job Karl, and Thanks for Posting the rear pic! 8)
