I cannot even tell if it was a coupe or a roadster?

WEYMOUTH, Mass. -- A car made a crashing entrance into a home in Weymouth, Sunday, crossing four lanes of traffic, hitting a pole, and crushing an antique car -- all while in reverse.

It happened on Route 3 in Weymouth.

Phil Drummy, the house’s owner, said he was inside at the time and the bumper landed just three feet away from him.

“I do feel lucky, I’m going to go play the lottery right now,†he said.

Weymouth firefighters said the driver was southbound on 3A when he hit a pole. The car then reversed across four lanes of traffic and went airborne into the window, also crushing another car and a motorcycle parked near the home.

“It’s an absolute miracle on a Sunday afternoon that nobody was seriously hurt,†Deputy Chief John Haslam with the Weymouth Fire Department said.

“He said he blacked out,†one witness said. “He had to have, because he was at high speeds, so he had to have blacked out because there was no braking.â€

“He said he was sorry, he didn’t mean to do it, and he said he got a new car and it had something to do with having a new car,†Drummy said.

The driver was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. Police were still investigating what caused him to lose control of the car.

This is what I think happened. He hit a pole at obviously high speeds. He was probably dazed and when he put the car in reverse and hit the accelerator the throttle stuck. The reason why I think that is what happened is because that is exactly what happened to my Chrysler Seibring a few years ago.

Man...that poor guy! His house, street rod and motorcycle all destroyed in one shot! That's painful to look at. B)

LOL, not exactly all it did to me was go in reverse till I hit a guard rail. Thing about my little reverse trip was that it didn't go nearly as fast as that would have been going to do all that. I was probably only doing 3-5 mph. For him to ramp up into that house like that he would have had to be going with some speed. I think their is more to the story than is in that article.

luckily the old Deuce is just a car and can be replaced, yeah it sucks that it was crushed (especially if it was an original, but it's possible it was a common DIY street rod kit), but the real kicker is that Sebring landed **3 Feet** from the house owner while he was inside, THAT is a miracle that he wasn't hurt or killed. Hitting the Deuce first maybe even slowed down the Chrysler, maybe that man owes his life to the little Deuce coupe :D.

In a few of those pics, there is a low concrete wall. Hitting that, plus the motorcycle must have sent the Sebring into the '32 "A" body, vs. hitting it @ ground level. No matter... it sucks.

Gee, this didn't even hit the news last night.

Jon finds it all the way up in Keene and I don't see it on the Boston stations??

WMUR's news bureau must be better than I thought.

What a mess. I do hope all parties involved have good insurance.
