each car will be the color of the horse ie red for war, black for famine ,have a pic of the horseman and its name on it.

well I hope I havent buggered it up :Dthough the test chassis seemed to fit alright, when I test fit its own the wheelbase seemed to be a bit off (about 4mm too long so I wopped the front of the car off and added some styrene 4x2 mm

why 4x2? well the width worked out pretty good and the thickness keeps me pretty close to the right shape with minimal filler

Good stuff Brett, I like the mods to the mustang, the 57 looks good with the front bumper work too, and you can never go wrong with black paint keep the pics coming...

Thanks guys, it means a lot, hope you can see enough, all decals are made from various web sources sized and printed by me

Both cars look great Brett! I have a question concerning the decals (really 2 questions), are they printed on clear or white decal paper?, did you have any trouble with bleed-thru or did you double up on the decals?, asking because I'm going to be printing up my own decals (using decal paper from BMF) & I'm wondering if I should print up 2 copies of the decals & double up. Thanks.

Thanks Ben and Richard. Richard, I used white, one layer is enough , no bleed through, however they were tricky to cut out especially the smaller contingencies . I have experimented quite a bit with the whole home decal thing and on clear doubling up doesnt help much even over orange which isn't all that dark. Pity I have two whole sheets ready to go of race car names but no way of printing as yet :). I do all mine through microsoft publisher as thats what I have. Hope this has helped a bit.

Thanks Brett, it has been a big help,I'll print up 1 copy & see how it goes on (when I get that far), if it bleeds through I'll just print up another copy & double up, have to use white paper for mine because the main character has a lot of white, (she's very pale!).

Yeah...THX Brett, great info. I've never printed my own, but I may try using Corel's X5 imaging suite. That is some great software that would be perfect for decal making. Happy modeling all!!!

Hi Brett:

Nice job so far a question for you when you do the decals. What resolotion do you print your decals at and also what decal paper do you use. Any help would be great.

Thanks John, I,m not going to be very helpful I'm sorry, the decal paper I got locally online and it comes in an unmarked packet with typed instructions with no clue as to which brand they are. They are the 11x8.5 " sheets in white though clear is available. And I printed them on the wife's Brother multifuction on photo quality ,glossy papaer as thats what the instructions said to do. I have previously used my Epson stylus with no problems but it has issues printing documents from publisher. Sorry this probably wasnt much help, just ask if there's anything else

Sounds like the decal paper might be from Bare Metal Foil, the ones I got ( white & clear, bought both)come in 11x8.5, does the back of the paper say Inkjet White waterslide decal paper?, other brands might come in the same sizes with the same printing on the back, I don't know. Any Ideas on the colors for the remaining 2 "Horsemen"?

They are all coming out good, but my favorite will be the Studebaker. I have one and am trying to figure out how to build it. What donor hit did you use?

Posted

Thanks guys, the stude will be white (pestilence) and death the pale hose (greenish white) was going to be the late model revell olds (prostocker) upgraded to a blown doorslammer, kinda undecided on body style at the moment. Have a lot of kits to choose from but some cars wont look right in that color ;).

Clay, I generally use the revell T S (top sportsman) kits as the basis for all my builds, done a couple of brass chassis that I'm pretty happy with but cant seem to scratch a styrene one for the life of me (and I have some great detailed plans ).

Heres a stude I've done previously using that doner
