Rade8boy Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 This is my John Deere loader built from the kit released a while ago from AMT, I got it and the farm tractor from my local John Deere dealer. The trailer is completely scratchbuilt from the plans that were published in a old issue of Scale Auto, the onlt thing not made were the tires from SATCO and chains. It has not been weathered and I still need to build a dump truck to pull it, which I will probably use the AMT Ford snow plow dump truck?? Also just finished the farm tractor For this one I am watching a well known auction site for the farm plow to pull behind it, they are few and far between!! JR
Kit Basher Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 Nice trailer! Are the tractor and loader die cast or plastic? You said they are kits? Thanks
highway Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 Nice work on all three Jerry! Nice trailer! Are the tractor and loader die cast or plastic? You said they are kits? Thanks To help Jerry out, yes Hugh, the farm tractor and backhoe are both AMT plastic kits.
charlie8575 Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 I vaguely remember seeing the backhoe, but I missed the tractor. Nice work on those, and a great job on the trailer. Charlie Larkin
Kit Basher Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 Nice work on all three Jerry! To help Jerry out, yes Hugh, the farm tractor and backhoe are both AMT plastic kits. Since they are plastic kits, then ditto! Great job on all three, Jerry.
Chuck Most Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 Very cool! I've seen the IH farm tractor kit, but never the JD. I'd love to see these reissued!
dptydawg Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 Great work on the scratch built flatbed trailer. I have a copy of those plans and have been thinking about building one. Thanks for some inspiration. Both the JD tractor kits are sharp looking models. I looked for years before I found a JD plow kit at a price that I was willing to pay. It does make up into a decent model. I'm still on the search for the MF plow to complete my set. Carl
Wagoneer81 Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 It has not been weathered and I still need to build a dump truck to pull it, which I will probably use the AMT Ford snow plow dump truck?? Having a 10 year background in buried utilities and construction work, the AMT Ford Dump without the snowplow would be the PERFECT truck for a construction combo... I really like how you built the trailer, it's a good, solid unit. I've pulled many a trencher, excavator and backhoe, with some trucks that were real turkeys and got familiar with different trucks and trailers so I'm here if you or anybody has any questions about medium-duty hauling, load securement, etc...

Carl I have 3 of the 4 tractors I am only missing the Massey Fergeson tractor, keep missing out on them!
