DRG Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 I've been there a few times and in fact picked up a Police car model today. Supplies are getting low at the one I went to however.
Harry P. Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Oilles? (in my Curly voice): Never hoid of 'em. A regional chain?

DRG Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 I don't know how wide spread they are but they do have decent prices on things. I have gotten several models for 7.99 each. Large Duplicolor paint cans for 1.00 each. Bought a nice 12 inch oscillating fan for the hobby room for 14.99.
Kit Basher Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Oilles? (in my Curly voice): Never hoid of 'em. A regional chain? Oh, a wise guy! It's Ollie's, nyuk, nyuk, nyuk. I think it's an eastern U.S. thing, one of those "overstock, closeout" type places.

mikemodeler Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Harry, It is another type of Big Lots outlet stores. They have been expanding and I wouldn't be surprised to see them in Illinois soon if they aren't there already. They recently had a bunch of Lindberg models, supposedly leftover from a warehouse fire Lindberg had. Most of the kits were going for $7.00 or so.

I've never seen one around here, but like you say... maybe...
Guest Johnny Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Nice! I've never seen one around here, but like you say... maybe... Not down here south of the city either!
Drake69 Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 not on the east coast... We have them in Virginia... Word was they received lots of overstock from a Lindberg warehouse that was heavily damaged (kits are perfectly fine), enough where they couldn't store it anymore. They made a deal with Ollies to sell to them what they had at basement prices, and they've been selling lots of Lindberg kits most hobby stores have in stock at 150% or more in price. I'm now looking at my 2 Space Shuttle w/ Booster Rockets that usually go for $45 ~ $55 each that I got for $10 each. Worth it.

Worth it. We have one close to where I'm at here in West Virginia too, across the river in Ohio. And if you're talking about the 1/200 scale Shuttle w/ Boosters, I'd like to know where you seen them for $45-$55 so I don't EVER shop there!!! I bought mine at a local LHS here for $19.99! Oh and by the way, don't believe the box when it says it has all 6 shuttle names in it, either. Challenger is NOT on the decal sheet!

Also in Maryland. 1/25 cars (Crown Vic, '53 Ford, F150 Off Road, others) $7.99, Rammunition (Raminator?) monster truck, $9.99, 1/32 cars, $5.99. All Lindberg. This was a while ago, don't know what they have left. Edited June 6, 2011 by basher

Our LHS had them for around that price a month or so ago.
