Since when is it okay to pass on the right just because you feel like it... and I guess it's okay to go 75mph in a blizzard.

No wonder there are so many idiots on the road.

Well I got a 95...however, they have one question that they have an incorrect answer to.

This is the question and their choices:

You may pass on the right of another vehicle when:

When traveling on a multi-lane highway carrying two or more lanes of traffic in the same direction

The other vehicle is making or about to make a left turn, when a lane is provided to pass on the right

Both answers are correct

The quiz says that both answers are correct. However, they are in error because this is not legal in all states. In Connecticut when on a limited access highway, i. e. an interstate, with 2 lanes in each direction it is illegal to pass a car on the right. It is only legal in Connecticut if there are 3 lanes or more in the same direction. And I should know...I gave out a lot of tickets for that over the years!

Not my usual 100%:lol: But will settle for the 95%..

Thanks for sharing..mmm that reminds me i have Traffic Court next week...Cheers

I missed #16, but I don't think I'm wrong.....3 seconds is NOT enough following distance. If you're running 70 and you're 3 seconds behind someone and they suddenly slam on brakes.....crunch.

exactly my point. It is against the law in a four states I have lived in.

I missed that one also...selected 20 seconds. I got 90%, not bad after 25 years of driving. I've never had a ticket, had 3 accidents (none my fault). I don't recall if I've lived in a state where passing on the right was illegal..I'm usually always on freeways that are 3-4 lanes per side, but I've passed on the right on 4-6 lane city streets also.

It's always been three seconds, hence the "Three Second Rule."

Here in California...Everybody Passes on the Right...Even on a Two Lane Road..It is Crazy...Not Safe to do so..I see people drive on the sidewalks just to go around a Car making a Left Hand Turn....Trust Me California Drivers are the Worst..btw I am from Oregon...Have not lived here long enough to be a Californian...and Don't want to be !!!:lol:

I've seen a lot of bad drivers here in AZ...a lot of people that have no clue how to drive in rain. Saw a zombie woman driving down the middle of a residential street the other day, texting or surfing on her cell phone w/ both hands and two kids in the back seat... laid on the horn to get her attention.

Exactly!!! I figured only the turning left when a passing lane is provided was right.

That is just bull!!! Remind me to never go with that insurance, by my 80% score because of their idiotic answers, they'd think I was a bad driver!!:rolleyes::blink::rolleyes:

Oh, and one other question I missed is the one about merging on a freeway, I answered the posted speed limit. Since when if the speed limit is 55 and all the other idiots are driving 70 or 75 MPH does that give me the right to break the law like the cell phone texting idiots that need that phone shoved up their BLEEPS!?!?!

I guess it really doesnt matter how safe my driving is.

we dont have too many other drivers to worry about around here.

Think I'm kidding? here is a view of the road to town (100 miles one way)

when I took my wife out to dinner last labor day weekend.

What does it matter anyway, you live in the Autobahn of the US!!:lol: I always loved seeing that speed limit sign when I drove the big truck into Montana, I think the trucks were limited to 70 or 75 MPH, but I always got a laugh out of the "Safe and Prudent" speed limit for cars!

It is a stupid as the Adverse conditions answer. Seriously it's mostly 75mph around here and it does snow... and their correct answer is the Posted Limit. Okay then.

Yeah, but at least you don't have vampires flying in front of you causing you to crash into a ditch.

It told you the posted limit was right!?!? What did you answer?? I answered "only as fast as it is safe to drive" for that one (and I just retook it and answered that again to make sure) and it scored it as correct.

By the way, I got 100% on the retake!!:lol::rolleyes:

I know what you mean H, but what if there's congestion and gridlock. You still want to merge going 55? Also if I'm driving a Pinto (again) and trying to merge 55 into a pack of Mario Andrettis... well, I don't have to tell you how that would end up. (That's hypothetical that a Pinto even could go over 55)

Sincerely, 95-percent.

I took the test (I know I scored well) but I'm not giving them my email so I can be flooded with spam. Doesn't everyone drive the posted limit in a blizzard? B)

Well, if there is congestion and gridlock, nobody's moving, and since I drive large vehicles, I have the right of way at all times, smaller vehicles WILL be shoved out of the way!! B)<_<

As for the Mario Andretti drivers, this is actually more real world, since I spent 12 years of my life driving 80,000 pound tractor trailers, I was lucky sometimes if I could get up to 40 or 45 MPH before I had to merge. I would either get going just enough to match up with a break in traffic and merge into the open space, and there more than one occasion where I had to stop and wait for a hole in the Indy 500 to open up before I could merge.

actually the faster you go the safer three seconds is. 3 seconds is longer than you think, at 65 MPH you are travveling 96 feet per second. 3 seconds puts you 288 ft behind the car you are following. there isn't a car on the road that can't stop from 65 miles an hour in under 288 ft.
