bandit1 Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 (edited) a mid 70's? im looking to do one and id like to see how others attack the project. lets see if i can remember here but i remember ill find the link just give me a minute but you need to get the amt 86 i think el camino and get a 70/72 chevelle kit cause you will need parts from both kits! but you will cut behind the doors and the lower part of the a pillars and do a basic nose swap and modify parts from both kits to fit and i think if im right you would use the chassie from the 70/72 amt chevelle kit! now let me see if i can find that link for you! my bad its a 68 el camino kit you need and heres the link to sae! http://cs.scaleautomag.com/SCACS/forums/p/68935/739988.aspx#739988 Edited July 3, 2011 by bandit1
jeffb Posted July 3, 2011 Author Posted July 3, 2011 cool camie, but im going later..73-75, using the chevelle nascar kit
bandit1 Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 cool camie, but im going later..73-75, using the chevelle nascar kit I HAD to look at a pic of one ... im not familiar with that year range! but i would think to use a 68 el camino body with 73-75 chevelle as a bases!???
mikemodeler Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 Good luck with that Jeff as that body was only around from 73-77. I think there was a 1/32 scale snap kit of that body style but I don't remember anything in the 1/25 size. Other than the NASCAR kit, I don't even think that there as a regular kit of a Chevelle. Pretty sure there wasn't a promo either. I remember a neighbor had a '74 and it was loaded with the SS package and power everything. He used to try to get me to wax it for $5 but I caught on quick when I saw him struggling with those long fenders and quarter panels!
paul alflen Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 (edited) JEFF B. IS THIS GOING TO BE THE "MY NAME IS EARL " EL CAMINO? IF SO, INCLUDE HOW TO PAINT IT. I THINK IT WAS RED-ORANGE WITH A PRIMERED FENDER AND BED .I THINK THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR WAS LT BLUE!! Edited July 7, 2011 by paul alflen
Chuck Most Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Should have called me ten years ago, Jeff! I had a '75 just like the one in Joe Dirt
