Eric C Posted July 9, 2011 Posted July 9, 2011 Here's my build for this years 24 Hour Lemans project. I used 21 of the 24 hours to do the build and finally getting around to posting it. I changed the wheels but otherwise built out of the box. Painted with Tamiya Chrome Yellow and clear and used kit decals. It was a fun kit and I'm looking forward to building one in more detail. Thanks for looking.
Bill Eh? Posted July 9, 2011 Posted July 9, 2011 Beautiful build. Paint and decals are excellent. Your carbon fibre work under the hood is outstanding. Congratulations on a wonderful build. Really like the fact that Ron Fellows is one of the names above the door!
Steve Keck Posted July 9, 2011 Posted July 9, 2011 Very nice, Eric. Very nice. I've got to ask, was it 21 consecutive hours? Or, do you have only 21 hours invested in the build? I like to think I'm a clean builder but, I know what my work would look like after far short of those 21 hours.
seeker589 Posted July 9, 2011 Posted July 9, 2011 (edited) Great build! Thanks for sharing! I have to ask what model this is based upon? Manufacturer? Also - were these "gills" molded into the body or did you make them this way? They add a gread deal of interest - it is a very intreguing detail. Edited July 9, 2011 by seeker589
Eric C Posted July 9, 2011 Author Posted July 9, 2011 Thanks guys... It was built with in a consecutive 24 hour period. Worked on it for 20 hours slept 3 hours and then finished up the last few details and cleanded up my finger prints, etc in the last hour. I think I was attaching the rear wing about 30 seconds after the checkered flag dropped and that was the last part to go on. There's a group of us that get together each year and do this. The front fender tops were molded open like that. It's the Revell kit in 1/25th scale.
Kanedge Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 Sweet build. I've always wanted to build this car, but I was dubious about the kit. Looks like I shouldn't worry, turns out really well.
