"SOMETIMES I GET REEEEEALLLLLY ANGRY!!!!"

Just kidding. This was done as a joke some time ago for another thread, so sorry to the folks that saw this before. I just thought it fit in...

I remember seeing a similar 'toasted' Corvette in a model contest. The builder apparently wanted a 'victim' in the car, so they added a toasted human figure. Now I'm no CSI, but I never could figure out how a perfectly flat, prone victim could end up in the middle of a Corvette. ;):):D;)

More like Hulk smash sleeper!!! :D

When I started the sleeper conversion on my STILL ongoing (and STILL stalled ;) ) custom truck, it looked like this.

After it made me say things that would make not only sailors but truckers as well blush :) , it looked like this.

HPIM1715.jpg

It took me a month to rework it, but actually in the end I was happy I threw it across the room, it came out better the second time around!! ;)

Matt, I still remember when you smashed that sleeper

When I was a kid, that was a normal part of the building process! :)

My friends and I would build the models, then "crash and burn"...

Oh, to be 12 again! :D

Even I didn't do that when I was 12.... ;)

It was truly wonderful what a cherry bomb would do to a plastic model! :D

After about 46 years of building I really don't get angry anymore, just frustrated or disappointed. Anger is usually a waste of time and energy.

Me too. And then like RodneyBad put them back together and do it again! It was usually airplanes though, not cars. When I asked dad if I could blow one up, he said "sure, as long as you pick up each and every piece", like that was gonna be a deterrent :P

The current kit I'm working on (a 67 GT Mustang by AMT) has magically avoided the destruction phase most of my non-Revell kits seem to want to go through, although it keeps getting dangerously close. Grrrrr....

Actually, only ONE kit met a disasterous fate, the Testors Toyota Supra MKiii. That thing said something about my mother and paid the price for its insolence! Even the Round2 Daytona, the absolute WORST kit I ever worked on, is still sitting on my shelf of models now, just begging to be stripped of parts before it gets scrapped.

I'll admit to being frustrated from time to time but never angry about it. I do build very, very slowly and only have one project on the go at anyone time. As a matter of fact I refuse to buy until I'm ready for the next project.

My first kit was enjoyable but it was all new. My next was fantastic as I avoided a lot of the mistakes I made first time out (and the Revell Black Widow 57 Chev is a joy to build). My current build- the Hemi Dart- is giving me fits getting the interior tub nicely in the body. I tried three times the other night without success before putting it away. I resisted the urge to try again last night but tonight I'll give it another crack.

When I feel the frustration coming on I apply the three strikes and out rule. As everyone else has said it should be fun but I entirely understand the motivation to do better and the occasional disappointment when we fail. My kids help a lot because at 6 and 8 years old, everything is amazing- including my less than perfect models

I was having the same problem. When putting it in I broke off the quarter glass and I said something I really shouldn't post here... :D

BAD BOY! :lol::lol:

i don't get angry, I am always pushing my envelope, if it bursts, so what, nobody died!

Same here.

I investigate cheating at gambling, financial crime and computer fraud. I have a saying in the office. "Babies don't die because I screwed up."

Years ago that was a a possibility in my position, high stress means low stress hobbies. I refuse to become more frustrated with a hobby than my regular profession. I do though, mostly become frustrated with myself for lack of skill. When that occurs, a break is in order. I walk away, smoke, and think it through.

Then I break the Mo%^&r F@(&%r into a zillion pieces.

Man, there have been some hilarious responses in this thread, and I have been guilty of several counts of 'Modelcide' in my day, but no more (The kits are just getting to expensive to wig out on...). Now, when I start getting frustrated with a project, I step back, maybe put it away and work on something else. Maybe that's why I have dozens of started projects sitting around now... ;)

Trust me, if models were still $1.49 there'd be pieces of styrene all over my room! ;)

I'll agree with the cost thing. Here in Australia I'm paying between $40 - $50 for a Revell kit off the shelf... that's too many dollars to destroy!!

Wow...I thought the $20 I'm paying is bad.

Oh when the kits were like $1.50 apiece, I wouldn't think twice about tossing them, breaking them or blowing them up. Now, they are relegated to the parts box after being broken into a zillion mf'n pieces.

I just spent $40.00 for a Dragon Sherman tank kit. I already spent $50.00 once for a Tamiya Matilda. The lovely MrsG spent $95 on a resin kit and has informed me another is on the way.

You better believe I'll finish these without incident no matter what.

You think that's bad Andy, my Italeri Ford truck that had the sleeper try to grow wings was $80!

I started building when I was a young boy, so my mom was more than glad to help me get out of the swearing at models stage.

I can still remember the taste of soap to this day.

And the worst part is an Australian dollar is worth $1.05 American last I checked... there's a lot to be said of buying power!
