Rdkingjay Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 This is the Hobby Heaven 1970 Ford police car kit. Aside from the beacon and scratch built antenna it is mostly box stock. I also changed out the grossly skinny original tires for a little more beefy version. Oddly, the kit comes with a Boss 429, which I retained, as opposed to a 428CJ or even a 390. The biggest mod on this car was the bumper/grille section, in which I sanded down the chrome strip across the top, that is supposed to emulate the chrome strip on the leading edge of the hood and fenders. Painted in authentic automotive grade colors and clear. Thanks for looking.
Mysterion Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 Very nice execution and quite realistic looking. I remember these as the units I feared most when first learning to drive in Mass. Paint work is excellent.
Terry Sumner Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 Heck I remember DRIVING them 9 hours a day! LOL (In Connecticut livery that is...)
Chuck Most Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 You guys keep this up and I'll have to start building cop car models! I really hope Round 2 brings back this one, perhaps even with a correct (non-Boss) engine!
charlie8575 Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 This is very nice. Please bring it to MassCar next year. We'd love to have it. Charlie Larkin
