RancheroSteve Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 I pretty much tried to match what was on the box, as well as how the color was described, and came up with a kind of silvery green.

Junkman Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 It's hard to tell from the photos above, but the original show car was actually a white pearl with a tinge of ice blue. It was repainted red for the movie because that color didn't photograph well. Interesting background here, plus a couple of shots of the red version in poor condition before it became the Batmobile. Includes a shot of the Revell kit in a color that looks very much like what you're doing. http://theinvisiblea...ncept-car-1955/ I bet Joe Bortz is kicking himself for not picking it up while it was sitting behind Barris' shop.
mr moto Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 Call me crazy but I always liked the look of the Futura, I often wonder how it would have sold had it been produced. Waiting to see how this turns out. Who says they didn't produce it! Well, almost. Check out this 1957 Premier. Factory show cars of that time were often about introducing the public to styling ideas that were already designed into future models but weren't on the street yet as a sort of marketing device for the new models.
philo426 Posted August 28, 2011 Author Posted August 28, 2011 I added the radiator,fan shroud,master cylinder and battery box.Next up ;mounting the bumper /grill.
philo426 Posted August 29, 2011 Author Posted August 29, 2011 I decided to go with Corvette side pipes!Lookin cool!
