Monty Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 I made an ebay purchase the other day and the seller is sending it USPS First Class mail with Delivery Confirmation. Does Delivery Confirmation mean someone has to be home to sign for the package?
Marc @ MPC Motorsports Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 No, only that delivery was made. Signature required is an additional charge. The only time I've seen that used is from Norm Veber at Replicas and Miniatures of Maryland.
Mr. Moparman Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 (edited) Delivery Comfirmation is a added service by the Post Office that gives the shipper an estimate on when the package will arrive. You can also use the number at the bottom of the sticker and track the package. Many traders including me use it. You do not have to sign for your package. Edited July 21, 2011 by Mississippi Resins

I use it but for the most part forget about using it for tracking as most of the time it doesn't even show up until it i scanned by tyhe postman delivering it or it arriving at the post office for delivery! I forgot! It does not mean a thing if the other end claims they didn't get their item! Went through that with ebay and they said just because it says it was delivered doesn't mean the person shipped to actually received it without having a signature!!!. I guess they are right. Someone could have stole the package off the porch! Edited July 21, 2011 by Johnny

Someone could have stole the package off the porch! Same here, probably 1 in 5 (for me) delivery confirmations don't actually track anything or are sporadic at best. I just got a package today that still says it is being sorted in New Jersey. If I were the lying cheating type I would tell ebay, paypal and the post office it never showed up. Instead I sent the seller a message saying I got it today.
