mookie Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 i was really bored today, so I decided to look through my parts box. I saw some rims and tires in there, i decided to use them in a trailer i have been wanting to build for some time. I found a pencil box laying around and it was the perfect size. I am planning to use some good material and some better planning later on and build one that is a little better. I am planning some sort of tire rack in the front, with some folding ramps. Something like this.
ra7c7er Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Looks really cool for just thrown together. Not that I want to turn someone away from scratch building something but you can find open race trailers similar to that already in kit form. So you could get a really good start on replicating the trailer in the photo without having to scratch build everything.
george 53 Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Actually, it looks like the LID from a pencil box. I got one layin around here with the SAME idea! Great minds think ALIKE!!!! Gonna watch this one Mookie, I like wat yer doin with it!

mookie Posted July 26, 2011 Author Posted July 26, 2011 Got home from work, and jumped in right away. Finished the layout of the tire rack, and mounted it. It easily clear my tallest car, (not the challanger) without hitting the tires.
mookie Posted July 26, 2011 Author Posted July 26, 2011 Added a little paint, the pink was depressing me. I also got one ramp installed. Keep in mind this is just a little experiment, i will use better material later on. It holds 10 tires in total.
mookie Posted July 27, 2011 Author Posted July 27, 2011 Did a whole new ramp, I wasnt really liking the first ramps. I also added the sides, and a quick little spray and I'm done for the day. The car on there is a charger that I am redoing.
crazyjim Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Looks even better. You might to change the directional tires around. The Charger is looking interesting.

I know, i just slapped them on for a quick picture. I started a build thread on the Charger. I put a link below. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=46545
