TheCat Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 (edited) Well, I'm on the final stages of my 1964 Chevy Impala SS - A Tribute build project to my neighbor Carlos. So, I've started preparing for my next building project... a 1969 Chevy Nova SS.... Pictures of the build coming soon... Here's a picture of the Inspiration for this build: (Painting it gold like this one) Edited August 12, 2011 by TheCat
Monty Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Felix, I'm curious how you're gonna match that paint since the hobby stuff doesn't match that particular shade. You may want to see if Scalefinishes has what you need.

You may want to see if Scalefinishes has what you need. That's a very good question Monty. as there's no Hobby Paint out there that will give you this color, I decided to use the next best thing... Find the closes color match and that's what I've done.
TheCat Posted August 3, 2011 Author Posted August 3, 2011 Ok, Here's the first pictures of the build: (hope you enjoy them). Primer, painted and decals applied to the body and clear coated. I know it's not 100% to the color of the actual car, but I must say, it's pretty darn close. Here's the body with the SS Hood
Malard Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 If you don't mind me asking what color is that? I assume it's a testors rattle can.
TheCat Posted August 3, 2011 Author Posted August 3, 2011 If you don't mind me asking what color is that? I assume it's a testors rattle can. Hi Aaron - You are correct... It's Testors One Touch Lacquer Inca Gold #1839M Spray paint. With Testor's One Touch Wet Look #1834M Clear Coat.

Drake69 Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 (edited) Sweet color! I like that Candy Emerald Green! Did you have any issues with it being enamel? Did it go on really heavy? EDIT: Nevermind, I'm an idiot. It's Inca Gold, NOT Emerald Green. I've used that Inca Gold and it's an excellent color! Edited August 5, 2011 by Drake69

It actually goes on a bit thin and tends to glob on the edges... Maybe it was because I may of used it incorrectly. I will give it another try some time in the near future.
