i really like TXRAT's and Steve Hinson's cars!

i have not owned an old car since my daughter was born in 1999. i used to buy a new car every few months as a project , get bored with it and sell it to buy another one....these days i drive an '04 Ford F150 Heritage series single cab, 4speed with manual OD , v6 4.2liter and 2wd. had 24k on it last year when i got it, has about 28k on it now. very clean, low mileage pickup. it's gonna be around for awhile as a daily. i will eventually get another old car cuz that is where my heart is! besides....MUCH easier to understand and work on the old ones. :D

Well Kurt, you'll soon find out why I love your cars. I LOVE the old Mazdas and that RX2 is always one of my favorites and your looks pretty sweet, any of the engine? 2 rotor? ;)

I love wagons and I love Mazdas so this is perfect and it's rotary  that's pretty rare but always loved that Estate. ;)

Well, your in Australia which is sweet, love the name, and you guys have some sweet rotarys down there, down unda....sorry had to do it. :P:lol:

How old were you?

The 1970 RX2 was powered by a 13B fuel injected 2-rotor engine lifted straight from a 1986 - 1990 non-turbo FC RX7. It also utilised the RX7 5-speed and was controlled via a locally produced Microtech MT4 (older model) fuel-only ECU. It was fairly quick for what is was and quite loud too... all part of owning a Rotor! I owned the car from age 20 to about 23.

As for the 1300 Estate well I've always wanted one and although there are quite a few around Australia not many pop up in my particular state. At this stage through word of mouth and keeping a close eye on advertisements on the internet I know of only 5 or 6 other 4-door models (including the one and only 4-door 1200cc Estate that was imported here from Papua New Guinea) in this country. The weren't factory Rotary powered by I plan to eventually convert mine to a 12A Bridgeport, posibly EFI but more then likely running a 48IDA Weber down-draft carb. :P

That is sweet... I am still mad that I could work something out on the 944 Turbo last year.

DamnRatBastards.

So I am still looking for a "fun" car hopefully a "Turbo Look" 911.

get a Turbo brick  or a Scoob, or a Miata....GTI...Quattro? I got it!........an RX8 yahoo.gif

;)

No I have kind of settled on a 911. I have been looking for a Turbo Look car for awhile. Found a lot of fakes but no real ones. Some were pretty nice but just not the same thing. Found lots of Targas, but it has to be a coupe. I may just end up with a regular ole 911 or maybe a 911SC.

The only reason I got look at this 944 was I knew what was all wrong with it and were I used to work took it in cheap on trade. At first they didn't want to sell it to me at all. Then they wanted $6500 on a car they just took in for $1200. censor-censor-censor-suckers.

I'm over it now.

Don't want a turbo. Most of the turbos that weren't wrapped around a tree or telephone pole have had the snot beat out of them. Plus they still bring a premium on the used market. The Turbo Looks and SC tend to have been a little better cared for and they are quite a bit less money.

Plus like you said. I will just find me a or build the motor I want. With the turbo set up and FI, liter size ect. I mean there was a jillion different combinations of Porsche Flat sixes. That way I can just build the idea car over the best of two decades of developement and the most modern technology.

See I already have a grand master plan! ;)

No. My 6 is just fine.

The 8 didn't blow up, okay it may have looked like it when I got done with it, but I am telling you it self-distructed.

And I already blew up a 911 so I already have that out of the way.

Yup. DSC did it... and 3 360s over an 8in curb and all the wheels fell off, well okay 3 of 4 fell off... which led to other bits flying off.

That was the good thing. :P It wasn't mine. It was someone elses.:blink: Hey poop occures. They got a new one.

I don't have any pix but I am sure there is somewhere.

No you should let me drive it. I will be sure to find any deficiencies in it. :P

Hey, I have only killed a few cars.

The RX8, 2003 Jetta GLS - actually I was at a dead stop and was hit by a crane truck.

All the rest were over 15 years ago. a Honda CVCC, a Honda Civic wagon, broke an Accord in half... The others were just wounded and not completely killed, my 70 Nova... blew up the "3/4 Race" 327 ;) 78 Nova blew up the 305, fused an Audi 5000 engine to the transmission, pitched a T-belt off my Toyota Celica GT that was about it. Oh yeah, that 911 I just happened to be drive when it decied to go boom.

And I have an excellent driving record, no accidents, no tickets on my DL. :D

I say you're not a real car guy until you have raced, blowup, killed, demolished and distroyed at least one car. ;)

Oh yeah. The Formula Firebird, also not my fault. Goofy girls, and squirrels.

First the goofy squirrel decides that it would be a pretty good place to store nuts on top of the engine of a 1969 Buick GS. Goofy girl floors it and the throttle sticks wide-open going down the highway. She pulls into the emergency lane at full throttle. Okay I’ll give her credit for that, but why not just shut the car off? Noooooo! She pulled the accelerator peddle clean off the floor trying to slow this thing down. Well it happened, just as she passed me, she ran out of road at a railway crossing and hit 7 of 9 sand barrels at an estimated 120mph and shot out across three lanes of traffic on two wheels and took out my Formula Firebird and 5 other cars.

Not a really bad looking model of the Consul, Jaffa. Only thing is, it seems to be 1/43 scale. Wow, would really love to find something 1/25-1/24. If you find any more pics of yours, I'd really be interested in seeing them. Thanks...

Managed to dig up a few more pics for ya!

Wow............Alot of sweet 1:1's floating around in this thread.......... This is a picture of my daily driver........

2003 Silverado SS, with too many mods to list............

AWD and the 6.0 motor makes this a fun truck to drive......................When this gets paid off, I'm gonna start looking for another G-body car to build up. Had an '86 442 with a healthy SBC, and I wish I never would have sold it..........................
