Malard Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Great looking work area! Is that steering wheel out of a kit or a custom piece?
W-409 Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 (edited) Interesting Mercury... Your bench is looking good too. You have very great building subjects out there. Also tools are looking great... Can't wait to see great models from your bench. EDIT: Engine detailing looks amazing. Edited August 15, 2011 by W-409
IceMan Collections Posted August 15, 2011 Author Posted August 15, 2011 Great looking work area! Is that steering wheel out of a kit or a custom piece? I had a few of these lying around along with some pumps. Hoppin Hydros makes some very similar ones now
IceMan Collections Posted August 15, 2011 Author Posted August 15, 2011 Here's another WIP. A 65 impala and a mock up of it
Dr. Cranky Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Nice bench and set up. May it provide you with many great years of styrene addiction! Cheers.
Tony T Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Nice bench and thanks for sharing your in progress work! I'd be a bit concerned about that ladder hung up over the workbench though!!
IceMan Collections Posted August 15, 2011 Author Posted August 15, 2011 Nice bench and thanks for sharing your in progress work! I'd be a bit concerned about that ladder hung up over the workbench though!! Thanks for your concern. It's been up there for years and it still hasn't hit me in head.... Not that I can remember anyways hahaha
IceMan Collections Posted August 16, 2011 Author Posted August 16, 2011 Here's an update on the Merc. I foiled it up and one last coat of clear after the pic
johnnyb Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Great job on the merc! Your workbench is very well organized. Very good job wiring that engine. Are those aftermarket pulleys?
IceMan Collections Posted August 16, 2011 Author Posted August 16, 2011 Great job on the merc! Your workbench is very well organized. Very good job wiring that engine. Are those aftermarket pulleys? Thanks for your compliments and good eye! They are! It was a 5 pulley set but used only what I needed for this kit.
diymirage Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 looking good buddy but....you are in need of some serious mopar power...where are the 'cudas, the chargers, the dusters and road runners? come on kiddo, we believe in you, toss a hemi up there
IceMan Collections Posted August 16, 2011 Author Posted August 16, 2011 looking good buddy but....you are in need of some serious mopar power...where are the 'cudas, the chargers, the dusters and road runners? come on kiddo, we believe in you, toss a hemi up there I've built them all. Lol. Well some. Check out my under glass thread: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=47059
W-409 Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 So you like to build Lowriders ? That's great. Impala looks really good too, and I've rarely seen '49 Mercury built Lowrider, but that one looks pretty cool to me.
Janne Herajärvi Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 wow, i have about exact same color in my 65 Impala project too.. Nice, keep us posted
diymirage Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 I've built them all. Lol. Well some. Check out my under glass thread: http://www.modelcars...showtopic=47059 i think i like the cuda best, that aircleaner looks great (dont think ive ever seen it on a model before but ive seen it on every other 1:1 mopar) and those slapper bars make it look mean
High octane Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Nice workbench and I like your parts cleaner too!
IceMan Collections Posted August 18, 2011 Author Posted August 18, 2011 Now I can get back to the 65 Impala. Some mild patterns
IceMan Collections Posted August 18, 2011 Author Posted August 18, 2011 And a few more on my bench Which wheels should I go with??
wgflatliner Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 on the 65 once the frame is built up the first rims will look better. this is my opinion of course.
