crazyjim Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 If you'd like to take a drive to Citrus Springs, Dr. Cranky, I'd be more than happy to let you look at my #160 - but no drooling on the pages and no curling them over. And you can't take it with you.
crazyjim Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 Probably gloves too! I don't want any rust & gunk on another issue of MCM that was delivered in pristine condition (again).
comp1839 Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 i just received my copy of mcm and harry i must admit, all of the articles look fantastic. the person who took the pics of my car is an amateur photographer and he did his best for me. i am not a professional model builder nor am i a professional writer. you made my car look awesome. as far as any comments about my altered being on the cover well, all i know is, i am very happy that my car made the cover. the sprint car is miles ahead of my altered and i'm only too happy to have been on the same cover. i don't know why, who or what makes a magazine sell. i'll leave that to the experts. as for the rest of the magazine. it's killer. all of the how-to's, reviews, interviews and story articles are just fantastic. very well done to all involved.

Your model was definitely "cover worthy." That level of scratchbuilding skill is something to be proud of!
Terry Sumner Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Dang...still don't have it and all you rats who have it already are making my mouth water in anticipation. It just ain't fair I tell ya!
Tony T Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 I get MCM from my LHS...160 hasn't reached this neck of the woods yet. Soon, I'm sure!
Dr. Cranky Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 Probably gloves too! I don't want any rust & gunk on another issue of MCM that was delivered in pristine condition (again). HA!
Dr. Cranky Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 #160 is in the house, and it feels meaty, and wonderful. I am just digging into all the gold. Those contest pictures are the best I've seen yet. A big YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!
Dr. Cranky Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 Mr. Most, THANK YOU for the wonderful review of my book. I really appreciate the kind words. OH, and you've made EYEGORE's day!
Terry Sumner Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Finally got mine. Think I'll save it to read under the Coleman lantern light after we lose power on Sunday......
Danno Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Good luck with the storm, Terry. Will be thinking of you ...
simonr Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 A friend called me yesterday telling that one of my models and the ones of my 2 partners that went with me make it at the GSL coverage...Now I will have to spend a few bucks!
Dr. Cranky Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 The pictures from that coverage are FABULOUS!
Mooneyzs Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 This bothers me...it's in the hobby shops but I have a subscription and it's not here yet. Terry.... I keep telling myself I am going to get a subscription so i dont miss an issue. My local hobby shop only gets so many copies of it in. Luckly they usually hold a copy for me.
Terry Sumner Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Get the subscription. Even though it may come a few days after a hobby shop might have it...I know it's coming, I don't have to use the $4 a gallon gas to go to the LHS to get it and I think it's a tad cheaper by subscription. This latet issue is really good.

This latet issue is really good. It's actually a lot cheaper per issue if you subscribe. And it comes to you, you don't have to go and hunt it down. Given the fact that the magazine is kinda hard to find on a retail basis, I don't understand why everyone doesn't subscribe instead of hunting down each issue.
Harry P. Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Damage done by the postal service? Golden Bell will send you a replacement if you ever get a damaged issue.
Danno Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Golden Bell will send you a replacement if you ever get a damaged issue. Maybe so, but Taco Bell won't give you a replacement burrito!
Harry P. Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Maybe so, but Taco Bell won't give you a replacement burrito! Which is why you should never subscribe to Taco Bell...
Danno Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Taco Bell is the official fast food of Arizona ... where everyone is running for the border.
