Greg Myers Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Is Revell too late ?http://www.diecast-pub.com/data/facts_reviews/roadsters/p4466-g180502-3f-stacy-davids-rat-roaster2732-ford.html
Greg Myers Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Cool parts and more cool parts. Let's hope this gets done. http://staceydavid.com/projects/rat-roaster
Longbox55 Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 But it doesn't have a BB "Rat" motor, it has a SB "Mouse" motor... Never said it had a Big Block. I said that it's intended to beat the big blocks.
mistermodel Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Darin, just wondering what you mean by "correct"sbc? Not sure when that style of rod came into vouge.Im at a loose with the fenders, but if those wheels were avalible in '65 a bbc could be correct, even a 289 ford could be correct.A big inch olds ,or a early hemi could fit in with that look also.
Greg Myers Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Were pickin at straws here folks. It's bitchin !
Longbox55 Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 I don't beleive Darin is saying the car itself is "correct" to any period, but rather than the parts on the car are correct to provide a conversion in to a different car, namely the American Graftti '32 Ford.
Chuck Most Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 If Revell does it, even if it is based on an existing tool (likely), it WILL sell... why do you think Revell has so many '32 Ford variants now? It looks like a potential kit of this would have quite a few cool parts on it, IF Revell does it right. That alone would sell quite a few.
bandit1 Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 you know i was actually going to build a model of the rat roadster i know i have the gas tank in the parts bin somewhere and the halibrand wheels im not sure of but i do know i would have a lot of scratching to do on it but it could be done ....now for the model to be issued that is great i would definitly buy a dozen or so and build my own versions of the rr now it seems to me that there is some confusion as whether its going to be 8th /25/ 12th scale i dont know but i would like to see a 12 scale as well as the 25 scale just for kicks!

Oh boy do I feel stupid .I totally missed the part about the american graffity coupe.I thought he was talking period correct.I agree with what Chuck said above,a duece is probably the most popular rod there has ever been.Every hot rod guy would like one Edited August 21, 2011 by mistermodel
bandit1 Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 i wonder if someone has a link or something where i can watch the complete episode and just not the promo thats on gearztc.com???

I mean correct to build a replica of the John Milner Coupe from American Graffiti. The headers are dead on and the car had a small bock chevy engine.
FordRodnKustom Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Either way, if they put some new parts in there I'll buy one just for that. If not..well I have still have a few of the roadster kits in my stash.

No official links to the full show yet,I think that is at seasons end....I don't know that either !!! I have it on my DVR but cannot find a way to link or view here Edited August 22, 2011 by MIKE THE MANIAC
Joe Handley Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 I'd definitely buy the 1/25 and at least be drooling over the 1/8th of not putting one on lay-a-way at work for myself!
Junkman Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 (edited) When I saw the headers and fenders I immediately made the Milner's Deuce connotation too. It prompted me to make a direct comparison before I say anything: After seeing those two pics side to side, I did a reality check and found that apart from looking similar, the components aren't even remotely close enough to use the word 'same'. I'd say they need as much modifying as the parts I have already in current issues will need. On a different note: Has it ever been clarified where the intake manifold and Offenhauser valve covers of the Milner Deuce can be sourced? Edited August 22, 2011 by Junkman
Junkman Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 (edited) Off topic: Also found this during my research. May enjoy the lads and ladettes who are sentimental gits like I am: VANITY FAIR magazine photographer Anne Liebovitz got the Cast and Director together on January 9th 2000 at the Culver City Studios. From Left to Right: Paul LeMat (John Milner), George Lucas (Director), Mackenzie Phillips (Carol), Bo Hopkins (Pharaohs),Kathy Quinlan (Peg), Charlie Martin Smith (Toad), Candy Clark (Debbie), Richard Dreyfus (Curt), Suzanne Sommers (T-Bird), Ron Howard (Steve), Cindy Williams (Laurie), and Harrison Ford (Bob). And here is a shot how they did some of the filming: Scary stuff this. Paul once said he couldn't see where he was driving because of the camera man acting as a hood ornament, so he had to use the overhead street lights as guide. Edited August 22, 2011 by Junkman
