oldscool Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 (edited) Thought I would throw this out there for those who are less knowledgable about Mopars. I have lost count of the number of AMT Mopar builds I have seen with this mistake. It's a mistake on the instuctions that has been there since day one of the 68 Roadrunner and is still on the sheet for the Round 2 release of the 69 GTX. Part 18 is not the wiper motor, it's the "beep beep" horn for Roadrunners. The correct part is # 141 on the chrome sprue: I hope this is helpful to someone out there. gus Edited September 17, 2011 by Gregg
Darren B Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 Works for me thank you very much for sharing with us.
Casey Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 (edited) Related tip- if you're building a Road Runner (not sure of the years, but at least '69-'72), paint the horn with Testors #1134 Purple enamel paint, as it's a dead ringer for the correct color: Tip #2: the wiper motor is not chrome on the 1:1 cars. Tom Setzer Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 I have also tried to tell people this but without much sucess, most have the belief that if it is on the insruction sheet it must be right! CHEERS! Tom
MoparManiac318 Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Thanks for the tip I am a die-hard MOPAR fan and I'm ashamed to say I would have probably missed it.
FASTBACK340 Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Ironically, the 2 speed wiper motor in the kit doesn't fit with the Hemi air cleaner lid on actual Mopar's. Does another kit have the 3 speed motor, which lays flat against the firewall?

Art Anderson Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 Just be sure that it's the correct 2-spd BEEP BEEP horn though!
Green Duster Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 I've been a Mopars guy for over 30 years. Thats all I've driven and mostly what I've built in scale. I've noticed that for a long time. I haven't use a instruction sheet for them in a long time. I change the parts around for what I'm building. Alot of times they show the W/W tank on the wrong side too.
