hellonwheelz3
I had a question about primer, but didn't want to hijack the other two threads, so I started my own. I have only primered with white and light to medium gray, but have heard that if you use silver or gold, it makes the paint "pop" more. Is this true? Also, I have only used hobby grade primer but have heard that Plastikote (now called valspar) is great primer. True or not? Any pics would be MUCH APPRECIATED. crazyjim
I use only Plasticote primer, mostly the grey but I a can of white, black, and red around just in case. I also keep a supply of white plastic spoons around - some are half HOK silver and half gold. Other spoons are primed with the Plasticote grey, white, & black. All I have to do is spray a color coat over a spoon to see the effect on different primer colors. The gold/silver spoon is for HOK candies. Guest
Another vote for Plasti Cote. I love that primer and it's all I will use. I just hope Valspar didn't change the formula.
