pd534
Hi Everyone, I am looking for advice on installing windshields and backglass. No matter how hard I try to be careful, I always get small areas of dried glue showing around the edges of the glass from the outside. I have been using the regular Testors glue in the red labeled tube, which is probably the wrong stuff for this application. Also, depending on the kit, there is usually not much room around the perimeter of the glass for the glue, which is part of the problem. What type of glue do you guys use? How do you install the glass? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!!!
SuperStockAndy
I prefer clear RTV Silicone. If it gets on the glass, it can be wiped off.
John Pol
I use transparent tape to put my windows in the reason I do that so if I plan to redo the model the windows would be easy to take out. John Pol
Jantrix
Elmers white glue for the win. Dries clear, water soluble. It just doesn't get any easier.
Guest
I use the Testors windshield glue which is basically the same as Elmers white glue Rob mentioned. The advantage with the Testors is the applicator. I usually place my glass where I want it,then run a bead of glue around it and let it "wick". MikeMc
Elmers white glue for the win. Dries clear, water soluble. It just doesn't get any easier. Then switch to Ultimate or Aileens...both like elmers...but stiffer and stickier than elmers...with all of the Elmers benefits..its got some flex in it. crazyjim
I use the blue painters tape to hold the glass in place from the outside and then run a bead of Testors clear glue or Krystal Klear about the inside edge.

High octane
I've been using the Devcon 5-minute epoxy for years with great results, dries clear and strong bond. I don't find it messy at all.
