miatamadman Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 I finally got my hands on one and was able to take a break from my commission builds. Needless to say, I couldn't help myself and out came the saw blade!! The wheels and tires are out of the Ford Harley Edition kit. I still haven't decided if I'm going to use the scoop or go with the shaker
MustangDreams Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 I like it and cant wait to see more! Great Job!
Jeff Johnston Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 boy I'd love to see a step by step on how you did that...even if I read it in the magazine. Great stuff man...love the yellow one too
miatamadman Posted September 25, 2011 Author Posted September 25, 2011 today I shot a beautiful metalic red paint job on this baby. The it happened........I proceeded to shoot the clear and wouldn't you know it, I accidentally picked up a can of Navy Blue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The body is now in the strip tank.
miatamadman Posted September 26, 2011 Author Posted September 26, 2011 Stripped and repainted with success this time! Paint is Tamiya Mica Red over grey primer and clearcoated with tamiya clear.
hd2500gmc Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 Vary nice love the TTOPS!!!! color looks great too.........
miatamadman Posted September 26, 2011 Author Posted September 26, 2011 Dupli-Color sandable primer. Cheap and works great!
miatamadman Posted September 28, 2011 Author Posted September 28, 2011 As much as I dislike the kit supplied wheels, I decided to give them a try, mounted on some parts box tires And here it is with the larger rims out of the Ford Harley kit, mounted on the same tires.
Dr. Cranky Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Looking real good. Love that deep red. Wow, beautiful results thus far. Keep it going.
charlie8575 Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 I agree with Dave, those Harley rims are a little too thick for the Mustang, although the sparkle and general design goes nicely on the car. That T-Top conversion was done VERY nicely. I'm thoroughly impressed. Charlie Larkin
miatamadman Posted September 28, 2011 Author Posted September 28, 2011 Yeah they do. Even though they're the same size, they do look larger. I'm thinking about sticking with the stock wheels and keeping it more of a factory look.
kelson Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Excellent work so far!maybe Ford should consider doing the same on the 1:1 mustang, can't wait to see the final result.
