Dave42 Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 (edited) Hey, Not sure where this fits in the forum, (apologies if this is not the right place) a bit of a different build for me. Mud dragster, used the wheels and tires off of a 1/64 Hot Wheels monster truck. Nail polish, chopped top, some minor scratch bits. Fun build. Hope you like it. Dave42 Posted September 24, 2011 Author Posted September 24, 2011 Thank you very much Chris, and Mark! Dave
Dragline Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 OK, now that is the coolest thing Ive ever seen done with that kit. Very clever and nice execution. Bob
Wayne Buck Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 VERY COOL Machine, Dave!! Looks Awesome! Nice and cleanly built and very creative. Thanks for sharing with us!
Dave42 Posted September 30, 2011 Author Posted September 30, 2011 Thank you very much guys, I'm more than flattered.
crazyjim Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 That's one heck of a driveshaft. Nice build.
Dave42 Posted September 30, 2011 Author Posted September 30, 2011 Thanks Jim, and yeah good thing it doesn't have to work....because I'm know it wouldn't
eviltwincustoms Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 This is a cool looking build, I can see Rooster tails coming off of all 4 tires from running across the Mud Bog.
Wayne Buck Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Thanks Jim, and yeah good thing it doesn't have to work....because I'm know it wouldn't I think it could work if the gearing was set up right. If you Could build the trans and transfer case with a MASSIVE amount of gear reduction and then find ring and pinion gear-sets that were like 1.25:1, it would slow the driveshaft speed down a bunch. Just speaking theoretically... Also, you could split that driveshaft into like 3 pieces with two carrier bearings, that would help as well. But hey, It's a model, it looks AWESOME and I LOVE it!
Dave42 Posted October 2, 2011 Author Posted October 2, 2011 Thanks Wayne! That's a heck of an idea, I never even thought of that, I should have split it up. I put a carrier bearing waaaaaay up front, but I should have added another and spaced them out. That is an excellent idea for another build, thanks again! I'm stoked that you like it!
Nitrozilla Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 Thank you very much guys, I'm more than flattered. You ain't done being flattered yet. What a concept, what execution, what a stance, what would it look like with a Grader Blade under there ?? Very Excellent Good, sir.
Dave42 Posted October 12, 2011 Author Posted October 12, 2011 Thank you Doctor Cranky! Ken, thank you as well sir! I agree on the other kits you mentioned. It takes at least two to have a drag race, right? I thought about the mud too....then chickened out....Stingaree... Joe, thank you, thank you, thank you! I think a blade would be sweet! Thank you to Bart as well, whom I missed earlier in this thread. Thank you all for checking out my stuff!
