streetisneat Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 I found this car is my model stash, partially built but the body parts and body are in great shape. I also have some 3/32 brass tubing. This could be a good experiment to see how well I like the bigger scale. One thing with me having MS it is a lot easier to see, lol. You guys give me some suggestions on whaqt to build, Pro Street or Pro Mod, etc
eviltwincustoms Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 Paul welcome to the Big boyz section... I have to say that 1/16 scale is much easier with us guys with big fingers as well. As you said it makes things easier on the eyes and I have to completely agree. I would say build what you like! We have a lot of Pro Mod stuff from 1/24 all the way up to 1/8 scale going on these days. So if this is something you would like to give a spin, I am sure you can find a lot of helpful posts to get you started. The biggest thing is just have fun with your project and enjoy!
baddgass Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 McCreary it's great to here you are going to try a big scale. The Pontiac Grand Prix is a nice starting point. I think a Pro Street would be the way to go, no body mods and you can build a bad ass car still. Put a BBC in it and a 9in. rear end, 400TH, and your on your way. Man have fun bro . and i'll be looking. Love to help!
streetisneat Posted September 27, 2011 Author Posted September 27, 2011 Hey guys, I can't seem to find much Pro Street stuff for the 1/16 but I have found some Pro Mod items. I figure that I will build the car just to have fun and not take it to serious.
streetisneat Posted September 28, 2011 Author Posted September 28, 2011 Could anybody help me on what size nuts and bolts that I need to order for this build. Front end, rear end, engine mounts etc. Thank you
baddgass Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 This may help, go to SCALE HARDWARE you will need 00-90 for front and rear and some 1.6mm for engine and so on. You will also need some 00-90 & 1.6 nuts. Hope this helps. P.S. have some more info. but have to fine it.
streetisneat Posted September 28, 2011 Author Posted September 28, 2011 Thanks Derrick, I will order some now. I have the 9" Rear end that came with the kit. I could make the 4 link brackets for it.
baddgass Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Paul go to RM MOTION and get some 1509 Rod Ends for the 4 link setup. And you can use on the front end, the 00-90 bolts and nut will work with them.
baddgass Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Here 's some pics. of my set up. Hope this help.
streetisneat Posted September 29, 2011 Author Posted September 29, 2011 Very helpful Derrick and nice job. I have been trying to post but it says the pics are to big. What are the tires from.
baddgass Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Very helpful Derrick and nice job. I have been trying to post but it says the pics are to big. What are the tires from. I had a old 1/16 diecast funny car.
eviltwincustoms Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 (edited) Very helpful Derrick and nice job. I have been trying to post but it says the pics are to big. What are the tires from. Paul, the 1/16 FC's on ebay are going for $40-$80 each, I would say just go with the Flashpoint Motorsport 1/16 Pro Mod slicks and they are only $15 for the pair. Much cheaper alternative and that is what I am using as well, then you can either stencil or use decals from M/T, Hoosier or Goodyear on them and put a flat clear on the tire over the decal and you will be good to go. eviltwincustoms Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Nice Start!... what wheels are those off of? They look like an old Centerline Wheel.
streetisneat Posted October 2, 2011 Author Posted October 2, 2011 Hi Bart, I still can't post the pics right. The tires and rims are from the Revellution F/C Kit. I just ordered some new tires. I am also waiting for the rear end and then I will do more on the frame.
stump Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Hey Paul, that's gonna be one wild looking ride mate...I really like where you're taking this.

Mooneyzs Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Paul you are off to a great start man. That is going to be one killer model. Gonna be mean and nasty.
sjordan2 Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Finally can post some pics. If you open a free account at photobucket.com for storing your images, you don't have to worry about image size. When you paste the photobucket IMG link into your post, it will be automatically downsized.
streetisneat Posted October 5, 2011 Author Posted October 5, 2011 Thanks everyone, I will try the photobucket deal for my pics. I received my new tires and rims and rear end the other day.
