Nitrozilla Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Since I don't have a reputation for normal builds, I'm getting back to work on a little project I was forced to drop about a year ago. Just started out with a curiosity as to how they put together a 1/64 die cast. Next thing you know, as usual, I'm outa control. So this is what's going to keep me busy until I can get back on The Bride of Deora. This shouldn't take too long. Pretty much just have to detail the back tires, make axles, mount the front end and blast her with some lacquer. I'll find a way to drag it out though.
Nitrozilla Posted September 27, 2011 Author Posted September 27, 2011 Then there's these pictures too.
gasser59 Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Yep, just as I thought. You need more therapy.
eviltwincustoms Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 It looks cool.... I like the idea this is back in my territory as I use to do Custom Hotwheels all the time for the annual Irvine Convention. Looks like you are going for that sort of "Rat Fink" way out of per portion look. My suggestion would be to use the 100% Hotwheels line up and find the 57 plymouth fury and pull the Pro Stock wheels off and use the front spoked wheels off of the Blue 100% Clay smith cams Henery J Willys gasser, it even has a nice scale moon tank! Pull that front clip off and use the 100% Boyd Coddington 36/37 ford grille or the grille out of that Semi that looks like it has a 34 -36 ford grille. I think it would really set off that wild Cab/Roof line you have going on.
Dr. Cranky Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 That looks wild, and perfect. I likes it, likes it a lot.
Terror Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Thats pretty cool, needs a bigger motor to turn them wheels.
Nitrozilla Posted September 29, 2011 Author Posted September 29, 2011 Alrighty then, we're still parts and pieces, but we're prettier parts and pieces than we were yesterday. Shot the body with Testor's Star Spangled Blue lacquer. Not exactly one coat as advertised, but that could be the conditions that I'm shooting under. It covered in one, but the gloss didn't come out until the second coat. Also going with new tires from the AMT Challenger F/C. They've been sanded on the tread and sidewalls scuffed to take some decals. The chrome on the wheels was terrible, so I stripped them. The chrome started disappearing the second the EZ-Off left the nozzle. The Challenger was getting ready to donate parts to the Deora build anyway. I had to laugh when I noticed the Challenger kit also has canards like I put on the Jungle Jim car. Gotta tell ya' I laffed and cried when I realized I had a set after I made those. lol Possible real live action packed non stop construction happening tomorrow. Ya' never know...... Thanx for the ideas on the 100% Hot Wheels stuff. I just had to go big or the Zinger Effect would be null and void. I'm not changing scale of preference at 1/24 - 1/25, this is a time filler 'til I can get back to the hauler.
Nitrozilla Posted September 29, 2011 Author Posted September 29, 2011 (edited) Ready for some fun and silliness? I was digging thru my decals looking for a discreet little something or other to put on the doors. I came across some unneeded Batmobile decals. I've said it before and I'll say it some more, my builds tend to take on a life of their own. This Willys will now have transparent blue wheel covers that will each get a bat symbol. As will the doors, hood and tailgate. Notice on the decal sheet that that is 8 out of 10? The other two will go on the surfboard I just made for it. The one on the left came with the truck I took the front clip from. The bat I cut out is (I hope, obviously), the rudder. Um, Somebody check on Futurabat, I think he just fainted. Jacen, you okay man? scalenut Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 cool, tho it doesn't have the huge engine like a zinger,, still cool
Nitrozilla Posted September 29, 2011 Author Posted September 29, 2011 cool, tho it doesn't have the huge engine like a zinger,, still cool I gotta give that to you Andy. If this was a more long term project, I'd slap an Allison or a 1/16 Blowed and Infected eco-friendly big block in there. But she'll still be a giggle giver wherever she goes. So don't gimme any more glue induced suggestions. I might take ya' up on it.
Nitrozilla Posted September 30, 2011 Author Posted September 30, 2011 In all seriousness, while I dislike Zinger's quite a bit, I do like this build. Then yer gonna luv this: All items shown are pre-gloss / flat
Belair2k Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 Hey that's pretty cool. Have you seen the Round 2 Snap kits that are coming out? Similar idea. http://round2models.com/models/looney-tunes
Nitrozilla Posted October 1, 2011 Author Posted October 1, 2011 Hey that's pretty cool. Have you seen the Round 2 Snap kits that are coming out? Similar idea. http://round2models....ls/looney-tunes Yes I have and yes they are. I'm taking a serious look at that little red altered. Make a nice Wild Willie diorama. No pics today 'cuz everything is about ready for assembly which should happen tomorrow. I oughta know better than to make a statement like that. Seriously, all I have left to do is polish out some clear orange peel on the hood and roof, then assemble. Cross yer finners !!
Nitrozilla Posted October 2, 2011 Author Posted October 2, 2011 Well, it's still today, barely and it's done. See y'all in Under Glass.
