brett Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Resin body, AMT 32 ? chassis I think (outta ma parts box). Blown caddy from the ole 59 Elcam, blue streak slicks, Halibrands from a Polar lights funny and some old dragster wires up front all out of my parts boxes. Gonna be pretty channeled as pics to follow show. Caddy headers didnt want to play ball for the pics but Im sure ya'll get the general idea not to good at this hot roddy stuff, so its leaning more to the drag rod side
brett Posted October 2, 2011 Author Posted October 2, 2011 55 Chevy pickup dropped front end with scratched bars, scratched and (still needing some modding) bomber seats and cushions. Cut out the stock exhaust so replaced whole floor (ribbed on the underside an all) and made up some engine and trans crossmember mounts so as it sits its at the perfect height , just need to make up some shock mounts and mount the radiator and I can start painting it
Dr. Cranky Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Boy that looks wicked! I hope you are planning to rat it out a bit. Love the stance, and the street-terror mill! Keep it going.
nybuilder Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Looks really mean love how the motor is taller than the roof.
W-409 Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Wow, it's just like this Finnish '26 Ford T Rat Rod. Great job so far, that engine looks good. Interesting project, keep it going.
brett Posted October 3, 2011 Author Posted October 3, 2011 thanks guys, delved into the parts box and styrene supplies before I went to the paint stand today, with front shocks and radiator coming from one and the top shock mount/ headlight mounts coming from the other paint is a green nail polish over coarse aluminum DuPont, and grille is some fly screen (I think) mesh
LAone Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 SICK! is the word that comes to mind. i like the look and the color you have chosen for it.
Randy D Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 Hi Brett, Cool motor, Nice stance and wonderful paint!!!! Looks like a winner!! Randy
brett Posted October 3, 2011 Author Posted October 3, 2011 Thanks guys quick question. Should I do the roof insert brown (leather), satin black or leave as is?
brett Posted October 6, 2011 Author Posted October 6, 2011 thanks guys , appreciate it, going to leave it as is. Now next question should I leave the pipes staggered or cut them down to the same length ?
W-409 Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 Leave them like that, now they are looking really wild, and that's great! Great build, color fits perfectly. I haven't seen enough these Drag Race Hot Rods.
Flyboyz1011 Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 That is absolutely amazing man. I love the color!!!!
