walt francis Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 Well I am almost done with the Miget so I had to start another project, Just laying the foil before I lay down the primer.
Dr. Cranky Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 Very nice. It's always good to keep the creative juices flowing. Looking forward to it.
W-409 Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 why do u lay the foil first? I think, that when it's layed- then paint primer and after the rear color some polishing and then that text comes out, so it's like polishing the paint off from that spot. Am I correct?
ewaskew Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 I think, that when it's layed- then paint primer and after the rear color some polishing and then that text comes out, so it's like polishing the paint off from that spot. Am I correct? I've seen it done that way and it looks real. But you have to sand very lightly or all work for the effect is lost.
walt francis Posted October 9, 2011 Author Posted October 9, 2011 Here you can see where I am rubbing the primer off with a pencil eraser with thinner and I will do this after each coat of primer and paint. Two coats of Dupla-color white primer
Dr. Cranky Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Nice job, considering that's pretty hard to make BMF look so good.
walt francis Posted October 22, 2011 Author Posted October 22, 2011 Just trying to figure if I like the kit tires or not , Back one out of the kit the front one and rims out of my stash
walt francis Posted October 23, 2011 Author Posted October 23, 2011 I had to strip the whole chrome tree on the Rat-Packer, that was the worst chrome I have seen in awhile
walt francis Posted October 23, 2011 Author Posted October 23, 2011 Well I guess you guys would like to know what I am building,The Salt City Shaker is from my neck of the woods so I have to do it up right.
mannyclub Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 That is going to be sweet looking Walt when you get it finished! Love it. To bad about the Chrome tree. Manny
walt francis Posted October 30, 2011 Author Posted October 30, 2011 all that nice foiling done on the scripts is now history as I had to grind them all off for this project, and I got the wheel wells opened up along with getting the headers built and checking clearance.
Terror Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 Nice work Walt.I like the rear wheel openings.
Dr. Cranky Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 Walt, I love the looks of this one already. Keep it going.
walt francis Posted October 30, 2011 Author Posted October 30, 2011 Got all the chrome done along with the interior painted and frame Dupla color gloss black And when the Rat Brothers heard it was a Rat Packer they figured they would run the job now. ;D
Foxer Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 a cool looking one. I like the extended rear wheel opening ... also the whole chrome tree rechromed!
walt francis Posted November 8, 2011 Author Posted November 8, 2011 I didn't think doing the injectors would be a big process This was just a quick mock up of the manifold painted Alum. and red inlay and gloss black injectors...Not real happy Ok, clean them up and tape them off and paint the tips stop light red Met. Strip and repaint the injectors flat black and repaint the manifold all aluminum and next put a black strip around the base of the red on the tubes when they dry...just can't be happy with "It's good enough" headbash
walt francis Posted December 4, 2011 Author Posted December 4, 2011 (Salt City Shaker) Got the headers pinned and installed and got the stacks on. Got the wiring all done I think the Rat Brothers approve.
Dr. Cranky Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 Walt, you are making EYEGORE dance around looking for his next fire hydrant! Don't stop it now! This build is coming along nicely. Love the subject matter.
