I hear Beavis and Butthead is supposed to come back.

I heard this on XM 90's on 9 a few weeks ago. They said it is definitely in production. As a child, my favorites were Scooby Doo, Garfield, and Peanuts. Even though I have them on DVD to watch with my little girl, I get mad if I miss the holiday episodes of Charlie Brown when they air.

I used to love watching cartoons as a kid. But I guess for nostalgia sake, I've tried watching them now and for some reason I just can't get into them any more. I dunno...maybe I finally grew up. :(

But on the plus side, I LOVE all the new super hero movies...Batman, Superman, Iron Man, Green Lantern, Thor and I'm sure the new ones coming! Maybe I'm not completely grown up yet! :D

I miss what used to be Saturday Morning Cartoons. Turn on the TV at 8am and watch nothing but cartoons until noon! Bugs and the gang, Jetsons, Flintstones, Johnny Quest, Chipmunks, Underdog, Wacky Racers...those were cartoons...plus the Supermarionation shows like Thunderbirds and another one I can't remember the name of (Hey, I'm getting old...)...these were the staples of Saturday Morning Cartoons. I can't get into too many of the newer cartoons. Some I feel have gone too far. That is my opinion and views on things...remember, I'm a product of simpler times...I'm getting old!! :)

How about Top Cat, Hong Kong Phooey, Yogi Bear and Boo Boo, Quick Draw McGraw and Bobba Loui, And as has been said the old Looney Tunes plus some of the other old and great cartoons.

I grew up on, and still love watching Looney Toons, Merry Melodies aka, Bugs and Daffy... Tom & Jerry... Droopy and Friends... Tex Avery was a genious! On a 'modern note', the only modern day cartoon series I really like is 'Ed, Edd & Eddy'... I guess I just don't get 'Adult Swim'...

As an adult, I still enjoy watching the Simpsons occasionally, South Park, and the golden oldie from my college days--Beavis and Butthead! I used to watch Ren & Stimpy, and once in a while catch Metalocalypse (Dethklok!!)

When we moved into the new house, my wife was 9 monthes preg and the other 2 kids were driving her nuts because we had yet to call and get the cable hooked up (still havent yet :D ) so she let them pick out a "scobby doo" dvd at safeway, that was two years and 56 dvds latter...we likes it a lot.

Bugs Bunny, Elmer Fudd, Daffy Duck, Foghorn Leghorn, yup I'm old.

I totally agree, the Loony Toons were the best!! Ren & Stimpy is a trip!

Here's something off the topic of cartoons...Does anybody remember Creature Feature ? For me as a kid in Iowa, it came on late Friday nights. I was hooked...Godzilla, the Universal Monsters...King Kong, etc...MONSTERS!! Woohoo!!!

I like 'em but my favorite was 0-Man. [or Zero-man if you like]

Starred Leslie Neilson as the senior citizen [mid '60's] hero and Ryan Reynolds as his "tech support" There were some really cool guests too such as Don Cherry and Ron MacLean as the henchmen of one of the baddys. Most of the people who did the voices were drawn to look like themselves.

As you can guess, this really was NOT kid-friendly as they wouldn't get most of the jokes. Neilson's character was done a lot like his "Frank Drebin" character in the Naked Gun serise,,but with a "super suit".

Here's a link to the Wiki page for those who'd like to check it out.

There's also a bunch of clips on youtube but unfortunatly, no full episodes,

LOL, I just watched a clip of it on Youtube. "Uncontrollable bulging"! LOL, LOL

yep add road runner to that and you'd have a perfect lineup. Other than that I loved the original Sonic the Hedgehog form the mid nineties. The only other one I watched recently or regularly is Tripping the Rift. I cant stand modern (whats supposed to pass for ) cartoons

I grew up in the late 60's and early 70's and my favorites are still Looney Tunes. I liked Space Ghost C2C and now I'm usually watching South Part and Futurama. It's a shame that all you see on Saturday mornings are infomercials.

Favourites are those really old uns from the 1930s and 40s Betty Boop, especially her take on 'Cab Calloway's Minni the Moocher, a lot of that old Fleischer stuff, Old Bugs Bunny(The one with Herman Goring). A fave is Hollywood Steps Out.

OK some are not really 'politically correct' even the Jewish producers were racist back then, and another fave, the old Tom & Jerry are not shown now due to the violence depicted, though the Simpsons(hate it with a vengeance) have Itchy and Scratchy.

A bit like model kit box artwork, the old animations simply look better than todays computer drawn cartoons. But cartoons are not really aimed at us who appreciate that sort of thing, most are made to entertain the kids at tea time and just look at the popularity of some other old 'uns, Transformers, He-Man and of course anyone in the UK must love Rhubarb and Custard.
