Well, my modelers ADD kicked in, and the plastic started to fly. This is a Mack/Superior 100' mid-mount aerial. It is one of three identical trucks ordered by Toronto FD.

I don't know why I can't build anything small......

Tail light pods. I built one, and then cast the other. The lenses will get a chrome dress ring around them.

So, after spending a couple of hours under/in a Mack MR garbage truck over the weekend, I was able to come up with the major frame dimensions, and about 150 pics for refrence.

Here is the front frame crossmember/yow eye. This a bolt on component to the front of the frame on the 1:1!

Here is the lower cab tilt cylinder mount.

And, the interior. I'm using one of my "seconds" castings that is laying around.

Yup. UNDER a garbage truck. It was only a year old, so it wasn't that bad. Same yard where I measured the sleeper for you!

I hope you don't decide to build a septic truck!!!!!!!! LOL

Nope, just a diversion for a bit. Needed a break from the I cab. There were a couple thinks that were not quite "right" and they were fighting me, so, I put it away for a bit and started something else.

A little update.

After building the front frame, I fabricated a pair of frame rails.

Then I mated the front to the main rails.

Since I am building two MR chassied fire trucks, I tackled the front springs next. I built 4 at the same time.

When I was at home over the holidays, I was able to get some more dimensions and pictures of the truck. while i had ambition, I started on the first of 4 sections of the ladder. For strength, and because of the size, I am laminating strips of different sizes together to get the correct size and shape.

This is an awesome build! You scratch builders push this hobby to an art form. Got to have respect for this! This is great inspiration for us. Go Dave!
