hello i got a lot of models off ebay a few weeks ago.the 1975 caprice is a glue/paint bomb.when i started to take it apart the model literally started to crumble, breaking the interior, windshield, and roof posts.so i cut the front end off of a reissue 76 caprice and and removed the one off the 75 and put it on the 76 body.dont know what color combination i want to use.and the wheels are from the amt 62 bubbletop chevy.

Interesting way to make a save; very resourceful.

I always thought the mid-70s big GM cars looked good in that nice copper-brown. Dark green, maroon and light (medium by the catalog name) blue are also safe choices, the last especially if paired with a white vinyl top and white vinyl-insert bodyside moldings, which I believe were available on the '75s.

Take a look at the brochure. http://www.oldcarbro...e/dirindex.html

And the color chips: http://www.tcpglobal.com/autocolorlibrary/aclchip.aspx?image=1975-chevrolet-pg01.jpg

If you want something a bit different, Light Gray (pastel) with a dark red interior, vinyl top and baby-buggy-bumpers on the side would be a very attractive machine.

Nice Save, I hope you didn't pay a mint for that, I have found alot of really bad builtups on there. I had to completely rebuild the window area on my AMT 69 El Camino back window , I payed $75 for the thing back 4 years ago. Looks good so far.

Thanks for the comments and me and a friend of mine went in on the lot and I did the math and it ended up costing me roughly 9.00 a car so no major loss there plus I got 2 74 impalas as well but those are in much better condition
