I was trying to find a single cab model for my box truck project. It looks like the '99 Silverado is the newest pickup model out there.

I did find one single cab pickup, the early Dodge VTS. That's gotta be 10 years old. (The real truck, if not the kit).

What kits are suitable for that? (and realistic. I'm not going to get an Escalade box truck for plumbing ;) )

That could present a problem as both of the newest SUV kits are Cadillacs.

I'm currently building the standard Escalade and I have the EXT version to build someday too.

I'd love to see the newest Dodge body style. I think it looks really aggressive. I saw a Megacab with long bed in traffic a few days ago. Man that was cool. A single cab would be great for a box truck.

A friend of mine is about to start his own plumbing company. He's getting a 4-door pickup with tool box bed. That way he can carry the parts for a day's work and drive his family around when he needs to. That would be a cool model project.

Does anyone offer new pickups in resin?

the Revell 99 Silverado can technically be called a 2002 Silverado, but thats it. wish AMT would update there 95 Ranger to an 07, but i doubt that gonna happen

Wait one!

There is a current Dodge Ram but it's diecast. Made by Johnny Lightning in Coka Cola livery.

Is it perfect? No but it is the newest pickup in scale.

Now that I think about it, SpecCast has the previous generation ('00-'07) Ford F250/350 in scale too.

They're better than nothing.

I have s few of the late model Ford F-250/350's. Spec Cast's is probably 1/25 scale. Matchbox modeled one a few years ago the was mislabeled as 1/18th scale. It actually, 1/24th scale. The Matchbox I have only seen as a dually 4x4. Spec Cast I've scene as a single or dual wheel rig. Check out 3000toys.com. They tend to have a good selection. If I recall, my silver pick up used to Texaco logos all over it, but I removed them with fingernail polish remover.

Here's some comparison shots.

The Revell ANd AMT Ram trucks are correct through 2001 in half ton (1500) and 2002 in 3/4 and 1 ton (2500-3500)

The revell would take a LOT of work to make it look like a work truck though it has a hot rod style front fascia and such.

actually the 2002 silverados got a new front fascia with lights and grille similar to the avalanche truck and it got new rear fenders and tailights too.
