Anyone notice that the 1:32 pete has a headache rack? Maybe they will start throwing extras in for us like they do with the car kits.

Justin, I hate to burst your bubble, but that headache rack has been a part of that kit since it was new in the 80s. They aren't throwing in anything extra that wasn't already a part of the kit.

The $80 was posted by a member on another board who has a contact a Hobbyco. Apparently Tower Hobby has them listed for $71.99.

Cant wait for this pete, it it was out in the 80's I too was too young and no allowance so it was way out of my reach but now I can do it justice with detail and afford it too. Can't wait till its out. Full blown sleeper detail , microwave, tv, etc etc,,,,

This is great news! I built two of the yellow Peterbilts and the red KW W900 in the early 1980's. I thought they were excellent kits. The fit of the parts was great and they went together very well. The Pete would have been even better with a Extended Hood, but I'm not complaining. Its true that they are not as detailed as some other kits and they are quite big. But don't let that put you off, when they are built they really are impressive. They have a lot of potential for custom/scratch buildiing modifications and detailing. Remember as well, now that the kit is being re-released this will give an insentive to the aftermarket suppliers to go to work on a whole host of ideas. Looks like I might have found a new home for my 12V71.

I'm not complaining but model companies could make better use of their money I've built these kits they just aren't worth the money. I'm sure they were meant for the youth market. The market is more adult oriented now. If these kits are poor sellers we may lose the attention of the manufacturers.

Those 1/16 big boys are out of my scale. I woudn't change 1/24 1/25 for nothing else.

Well OK, maybe for a newer Peterbilt 389 I coundn't resist, but not for those old kits. I am not interested.

I believe that model companies are looking for easy money by re-re-re-releasing the same models again and again, and they have lost their origin, to produse new models. Thinks are moving forward and so the hobby does and of cource our needs, wants and wishlists.

I am very happy that Moebius gave us the Lonestar and I can see that something had changed, slowly but surely. Italeri is going to release two new models (IVECO STRALIS, EU TIMBER TRAILER) and as they anounced that both those two models are totaly brand new toolings.

So I can only hope for one or two new Peterbilts from them in the future and

Kostas.

I have 3 of the old kits......and a metal 379 kit and 2 flatbeds, eventually I will get them built but I need a bigger house for shelving for that......a series 60 for it would be nice or a CAT other than the the one with the kit.....maybe a cummins 444........now i wanna start on a spread axle reefer or a stepdeck for them since they are coming back

if it turns into a big thing we need plenty of 1/16th detail parts to play with

Just a speculation but they will probably see how well they do with the Peterbilt before they re issue the Kenworth.
