Steve Keck Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 (edited) My newest project is Tamiya's Acura NSX done as a sleeper tuner only I got ahead of myself and forgot to take pictures of the white styrene body posed on the kit wheels & tires. Can anyone help out and post these so I can get on with my update? Thanx! Edited December 1, 2011 by Steve Keck
Skydime Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 (edited) We can all picture it...if we can't, we'll pretend so you can move forward. I like those NSXs. Looking forward to watching this one. Edited October 20, 2011 by Skydime
Brett Barrow Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 A picture of a plastic spoon painted with your chosen body color will suffice as an acceptable substitute...
Scale-Master Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 Just show us what you have done. I mean really, how many times do we see an unpainted body set on some wheels and tires with a commentary of "my next build" just disappear into oblivion? Sounds like you are ahead of the curve. Now show us...
Steve Keck Posted October 21, 2011 Author Posted October 21, 2011 A picture of a plastic spoon painted with your chosen body color will suffice as an acceptable substitute... Here ya go, Brett:
LAone Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 so i take it that the choice of paint color is white??
Steve Keck Posted October 22, 2011 Author Posted October 22, 2011 Color coat is on - HOK Sunrise Pearl over white primer. Clear coat is next.
Scale-Master Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 I wish my spoons turned into cool car bodies when I painted them...
LAone Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 ooh, thats a nice color. looking forward to your sleeper.
Steve Keck Posted October 23, 2011 Author Posted October 23, 2011 I've turned new brake rotors that fit over the kit hubs. This will provide more space for the offset required with the wheels I've selected. Replicas & Miniatures calipers look better with the larger rotors. The wheels & tires come from Tamiya's Mazda 787B kit. To achieve the proper offset I cut off the kit rims and turned new rims from PVC pipe. Next up: aluminum beauty rims.
Steve Keck Posted October 24, 2011 Author Posted October 24, 2011 After adjusting the offsets I can see how it will sit.
Scale-Master Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 It's looking good. Glad to see you are getting more into machining.

Steve Keck Posted October 25, 2011 Author Posted October 25, 2011 Hey great idea on those rims, What size is that PVC pipe? 3/4" pipe, Mike.
Steve Keck Posted November 1, 2011 Author Posted November 1, 2011 Beauty rims are done. One prototype and four good ones.
Steve Keck Posted November 3, 2011 Author Posted November 3, 2011 General Lee wheels! That, Danno Baby is an insult! You'd best show up at Saturday's contest with an apology spouting from your lips or I'll harm your precious emoticons!
Steve Keck Posted November 30, 2011 Author Posted November 30, 2011 A short update: With turkey day past and decorating for the next holiday I haven't progressed much on the NSX. The tires & wheels are done.
LAone Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 the wheels look super sweet. those ring make a night and day difference on there.
Scale-Master Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 (edited) I like the contrast between the wheel centers and the trim rings. Makes me wish I had started mine when you asked now... Oh yeah, nice nuts too... Edited November 30, 2011 by Scale-Master
