Jon Cole Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 Found a few Hudson ads on Hemmings, not all Hornets, but enough to help build the kit... http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/carsforsale/hudson/hornet/1263414.html BTW, does the Moebius kit represent the 7X "NASCAR" engine?
vairnut Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 More Hudson reference pictures from Ypsilanti orphan car shows : http://s193.photobucket.com/albums/z240/jeffshreve/hudson%20pics/
Chuck Most Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 BTW, does the Moebius kit represent the 7X "NASCAR" engine? Yes, but the 7X was the production engine. It wasn't done specifically for NASCAR.
Dave Van Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 All Hudsons....all the time....... http://public.fotki.com/DaveVan51/2011-hudson-het-nats-okc/
Art Anderson Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 Yes, but the 7X was the production engine. It wasn't done specifically for NASCAR. Essentially, the 7X IS the Nascar engine, Chuck. With the exception of the aluminum high-compression cylinder head, all other 7X components were internal--and NASCAR was pretty stringent about enforcing their rules regarding the use of only factory-available parts (and those parts had to be available both over-the-counter, and in production engines as well. Hudson had a reputation for fairly high-performance cars since the 1920's, and certainly in the 30's behind the Terraplane. That continued after WW-II as well. Art
