Maindrian Pace Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Recently, I came across a want ad on craigslist from a guy who was looking for one of these kits. He said he remembered it from a hobby shop in Minnesota in the early '80s, almost bought it, and never saw another one. I've never seen or heard of this kit. I asked him if he maybe saw an Entex 1:20 '79 Mustang kit, but he said definitely MPC and larger than 1:20. Has anyone heard of this kit, or have a picture of the box? -MJS
Abell82 Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Never seen one. Maybe he is thinking of the Testors Mustang Coupe or Capri kits?
Mike Kucaba Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 When people on Ebay list a model by Revell when AMT is clearly on the box, even memory doesn't work here. He either saw an MPC 1/16th kit and thought it was a Mustang,or he saw the Entex one.
Junkman Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 The Entex 1:20 Mustang = the Bandai 1:20 Mustang. The Testors 1:20 Mustang is based on an old Lindberg tool. There also was the Mercury Capri.
62rebel Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 no telling what he saw nor what people (fail) to see when they use their own eyes.... craigslisp is full of people who can't seem to process what they see into the keys they push on the keyboard.
Chuck Most Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 It probably is a mis-identified 1:20 Fox. I'd love to see a 1:16 Fox Mustang (bonus points if it's a Notch or at least a non-GT hatch), but I've never seen one in that scale, by anyone, ever.
Maindrian Pace Posted November 7, 2011 Author Posted November 7, 2011 Thanks everyone, this is pretty much what I thought. -MJS
