Casey Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Has anyone here purchased this kit?: I'm curious what size the rear wheels (they appear to say "U.S. Mag" on the centercap) and tires are, as they appear to be very similar to the tires used on the old MPC 1/20 McLaren Mk?? kit.
Draggon Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 I've got it, the tires do look a lot like the ones on the McLaren, but as I remember it, they are a bit taller and narrower, and dont have sidewall detail.

Thanks. If you could get an actual wheel diameter measurement when you have a chance, it would be much appreciated.
RodneyBad Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Well I have the teh Testors kit and the tires measure out to 18mm wide x 35mm tall. The 1/20 scale 1 ton wheels from the old MPC mid 70s dodge 4x4 fit in them nicely too.
Casey Posted November 11, 2011 Author Posted November 11, 2011 Rodney, coul you please measure the I.D. or opening size of the tire? And a wheel diameter, too, if possible.

jbwelda Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 looks like maybe the source of this kit is the original revell tweedy pie? anyone know?
walt francis Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 This is the one I built after my shoulder surgery
Dr. Cranky Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 Beautiful work, Walt. Oh, BTW, where did you get the checkerboard?
walt francis Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 Beautiful work, Walt. Oh, BTW, where did you get the checkerboard? I got it from a store that sold custom doll house kits but it's out of bussness now.
bobthehobbyguy Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 I know this isn't the tweedy pie as I have one. Also this is a metal body and the revell is plastic.
