I got some bodywork done on the deuce, long way to go tho. I've got a lot of plans for this one, but I still haven't decided on a motor yet.

I started on the next step, sectioning and channeling. I found a while ago the best way to section was to shave some off the bottom, raise the wheelwells and replace the mouldings around the edges with evergreen 1/2 round plastic.

Cole, that flatty looks great!!

Did some more last night. I got the trim replaced and the interior roughed together to get the channel the right height. Still got a lot to do. I think I'm gonna go with flathead power, there's a real nice one in my '48.

Looks cool Cole, nice work so far.

Didn't get much done on mine, got the rear wheelwells in. Thought I'd mock up the suspension to see what this bad boy's gonna look like. I tacked the Hemi from the kit together just to see but I think I'm still doing the flatty.

I think I'm going to look for different wheels, these ones are a bit too wide.

Wow thats looking really good. What are you thinking of for paint?

I saw pictures of a deuce 5 window like this years ago and it got stuck in my head. Dark metallic green and lots of chrome.

When I was chopping the top it occured to me that it'd be hard to see traffic lights driving this thing, so I cut out the insert in the roof and I'm going to install a green tinted window.

Paul that's going to be a cool rod.

Dick, yours is radical but I think you should think about a new neighborhood or locking up the cat at night.

Busy weekend for me but I got the rad cut and mounted lower and found a better set of wheels.

Thanks Virgil. It’s encouragement and inspiration from great builders such as yourself that keeps the juices flowing in mere mortals like me.

Here's the '53 in progress...please note that some things will change between now and when I get it finished.

The idea is to make it look like something brought out of a junkyard, keeping it somewhat stock and modified at the same time.
