JTRACING Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 haven’t made a 50's car in a long time, so I decided to pick up this AMT kit. heres the paint scheme i came up with, its Krylon "buttercream" and white the first pic shows the actual color pretty close. also I had to make new "ridges" on the tops of the front fenders, it seems one side of the fender was higher then the other. i think they turned out pretty good
mikelo Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 Wow that is cool! I love the color. Very clean. I am in awe over you BM skills. I think I have seen some of your work before, but the BM on the door, where it wraps around the edge of the door, amazing. Thanks for the pics. I'll be looking for updates.
hookedonplastics Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 Excellent detail on the engine. What after market pieces did you use?
RJWood Posted May 13, 2007 Posted May 13, 2007 Your work is fantastic! good choice of this kit, its one of the best of the 50s cars. I wish more kits were like this. and your doing a superb job with it.
ratrodder Posted May 13, 2007 Posted May 13, 2007 Beautiful build so far. The yellow and the good work on the foil look great. Iwant to build a 57 and 56 converts. Both are great kits.

JTRACING Posted May 14, 2007 Author Posted May 14, 2007 thanks guys! Nice looking Ford James...great foil work. Whats your tire /wheel choice gonna be? I want to use the stock rims in the kit, but they are not very good, they have some molding problems on the edges, im gonna try and fix it, if they dont turn out I'm gonna put some steelies on it 8)
Harold Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 Wow! Your building style kicks *^&. The paint and foil work (especially the foil) are nothing short of jaw-dropping.
