Ira Posted January 12, 2012 Author Posted January 12, 2012 COOL WILLY is Getting Ready!!! Both arms have been modified by cuttting joints and re-glueing at a different angles. After this coat of putty has been sanded smooth, Cool Willy will be ready for some color! Here is Cool Willy in place on his new seat, ready to grab the steering wheel & shift gears!!!
Psychographic Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 (edited) He's cooler than cool, he's Chilly Willy. Nope, he's cooer than that, he's Chizzle my Wizzle. Edited January 12, 2012 by Psychographic
Ira Posted January 13, 2012 Author Posted January 13, 2012 The MINI-MEN are Here!!! I wish I had these Mini-Men when I started this Cool Willy figure... I finally recieved the Mini-Men from Ebay! These figures can be positioned in place and then glued! All the joints are adjustable. I made this guy many years ago with a Deals Wheels Head & a Mini-Man Body... I will be using these figures next time, for sure!

espo Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 I have enjoyed watching your Willys build. I would like to get some of the frenched headlights for a future project. Could you give us a web site where I could find them?

Modellpularn Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 (edited) Great progress Ira! Can't wait to see it painted... but don't rush it. Here's something I did on a slot body maybe 10 years ago when I got into the saloon racing in our club. Edited January 15, 2012 by Modellpularn

jeffs396 Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 You've got quite the vivid imagination Ira! Seeing this KEWL build makes me want to go get a few of these DW kits like I used to build as a kid But, the way you've created one from a "normal" kit really takes it to the next level! I'm having visions of all sorts of different body styles done like this now Thanks for the inspiration!

Ira Posted January 18, 2012 Author Posted January 18, 2012 Painting The Interior... Started with White Primer, masked it off and then sprayed on some Lime Ice. A fine tip marker was used to fill the lines. Looks like Cool Willy got a little sun over the weekend!
