Jesse D Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 I'm lookin for some simple and dirt cheap wasy to build engine mounts for a Revell parts pack 354 cadillac to mount into a 72 chevt c10.,
steve7119 Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 Jesse, You can build motor mounts the same way the 1:1 guys do it just smaller. fairly simple, figure and upside down V with the point cut off down far enough that the motor fits at the height you want. Tubing or small square stock cut at an angle would work. on 1:1, the motor mounts usually bolt to the frame around the front cross member and are extended up to the sides of the engine block. Steve
Jesse D Posted November 27, 2011 Author Posted November 27, 2011 I've built 1:1s but never in scale. Thanks.
Foxer Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 I think you have the right idea ... just think what you'd do for a 1:1 and make it out of plastic sheet and shapes. I've made mounts that attach to the engine to sit on pads added to the frame. There's no set shape or method. Having done this for 1:1 cars you're way ahead of me on this! Good luck and have fun ... and show us what you do!
