Mooneyzs Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Brett... This is looking great Bud!! and its coming along nice. Very nice job what you have done to the body so far. Looks great with you removing the rear louvered window and adding in the sheet like you did as well as the "snorkle" on the hood. Is this 1/16th or 1/25th scale. Keep up the great work.
brett Posted December 17, 2011 Author Posted December 17, 2011 Thanks guys. Chris, its the 25th scale Schumacher car. Gonna plumb and wire this one ( will give me something to do while the paint is drying , as I have to paint all the graphics ) .
brett Posted December 19, 2011 Author Posted December 19, 2011 Well I put some primer on and l took some primer off sanded for high low spots) then I put some primer on and when I sanded it back off I was pretty happy with it (dang there goes my song). In between primer drying times I painted a few bits and started engine detailing. Oil lines Yes I know the sumps not painted but I dont want the paint to rub off with all the handling Blower manifold plumbed and plug wires done test fits one and two tomorrow I will mock the headers up for the body cutouts then start laying some colors down as That will be the most time consuming job of the whole build
Mooneyzs Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Brett... that engine is looking great and nice job on the primer. look forward to seeing.more on this build. you are doing a awesome job, keep up the great work.
brett Posted December 21, 2011 Author Posted December 21, 2011 Thanks, Put some paint on , yellow was done yesterday masked for the orange last night. Orange was sprayed this morning did the masks about lunchtime then sprayed the black
brett Posted December 21, 2011 Author Posted December 21, 2011 Cleaned the airbrush then started removing the masks. Few little touch up spots but overall I'm pretty happy with it. Will let it dry and then give it a light west sand then go from there.
1320wayne Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 Nice job on doing the graphics in paint rather than the decals. Looks good.
Prostreet Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 Nice work on the paint Brett, Looking good.
W-409 Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 That's great idea to paint those graphics, as Wayne said. I hate installing bigger decals. Paintjob looks good, after wetsand, are you going to clear it. Maybe that would give smooth and shiny look for it...
Mooneyzs Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 Very nice work Brett. the paint is looking good!
eviltwincustoms Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 I have to agree with the others, nice job on the execution on the Painting of the body instead of using decals. That is a task in itself, and you pulled it off very well. Like you said, just some small touch-ups, but it will look fantastic.
brett Posted December 24, 2011 Author Posted December 24, 2011 Thanks guys, appreciate it , Well I know why I dont do low riders now. 2hrs of masking to do the yellow pin strips and looks like another 2 to do the orange ones :. Anyways pretty happy with how they've come out and gave free handing the name a go as my mask didnt work. little bit more work on the name I think it will be fine, hope you all have a safe and merry xmas ps Niko, no clear yet
brett Posted January 3, 2012 Author Posted January 3, 2012 Thanks Darryl, nearly made myself go blind today (no not like that ) I did the rest of the engine detailing (well most of it ). All A/N fittings are scratch built out of toys twist ties and hex styrene drilled then rounded off ends. Fuel shut off and throttle linkages are bits of coke can. test fit as you can see the body's being remasked for the orange pinstirping and tiding up some of the orange bits, all hooked up in the chassis still need to do the accelerator linkages and spring paint the sump and redo the headers in flat black. Thanks for checking in
vintagedragfan Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 lookin great Brett! she is comin along nicely
Mooneyzs Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Brett...this is coming along nice and the detail is looking great. keep up the great work on this.
Nitrozilla Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Now you're cookin' with gas, or nitro, whatever. Nice job of making the fittings and throttle links. Drilling that hex is lots of fun, right?
brett Posted January 4, 2012 Author Posted January 4, 2012 thanks guys. appreciate the nice comments Now you're cookin' with gas, or nitro, whatever.
