I have been working up some motors for another thread and have this Blown Hemi I have been building up. Got the things back from chrome shop and was looking for a place to put it. I needed to finish motor mounts before the block can be sent to the paint shop. It will have electronic ignition and partially wired and detailed. I have been toying with a 1932 Chevy 5 window coupe for it. I built this body up this morning, so now my hemi has a new home. The body is not done yet and the custom frame still needs attention but would like to start showing the progress. :P

Of course it is all scratch built. What else did you expect from me B) . I will get the rubber done tonight.

I am having some fun with the frame on this one. I should have this done this week end. It is a quick build.

Kenn, it's amazing the amount of work you make for yourself, but then again, I think you are the only one in the world doing this with plastic. So bring it on, keep it going.

Afew more photos showoing a little progress. :) The body is ready for applying the beading. I have a fire wall overlay to do with some detailing. I think I am ready to paint the motor block and apply the chromed parts. Wheels are being glued up and will be up tomorrow sometime.

And to think that I had thought the Guys who build with Brass where the "Bees Knees!'

WOW!!

You Guys using plastic are really "Plastic Sculptors!"

This is a GREAT W.I.P. as I would like to have a Chevy coupe myself!

Those kits are hard to come by!

Thank You for sharing

I "Will" be watching this one for sure!!

If I was not scratch building it would have been easier, but then that would defeat the idea of building from nothing. It would also be easier to use commercial tires and rims and engines. I enjoy scratch building it all and as I do more I find it easier each time. I really like building this way and right now have several ready to finish up. I have been painting this week on 4 projects that are about done. This ine still has a few little things to do and ready to go to the paint shop.

I have the engine block painted and ready for assembly.

The rear end is a modified Jag XKE clone.

There is more I could do but since for the most part it will never be seen it is enough for this application. B)

WOW!!!! What scale are you building it in???? THIS is GREAT!!! How did you laminate the sheets and keep them from warping? Everytime I try something like this, the panels warp on me. What kind of glue do you use? I use Ambrose liquid cement. What is the thickness of the plastic your useing? Sorry to ask so many questions, but it's the only way to learn. Thanks! :D;)

George. I have been covering all of this in the following thread. It outlines the methods, materials, and other items. Most things are 1/25th scale roughly.

I also have 6 other threads running on scratchbuild vehicles that might give additional information.

You can also type "KennB" in the search box at the upper right on this page and it will bring up all the things I have done or am working on.
