Dr. Cranky Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 EYEGORE's Lab-RAT-ory faves for the year. It was a perfect year of combining the RUSTY and the SHINY (Jim will be happy!) THE SHINY: Electric "Low & Blue" 55 Chevy "So Freakin' Blue" 55 Chevy "BIOMECH C-300" "THE ROSE PIMPRESS" "TIKI FIVE-FIVE" Chevy
Dr. Cranky Posted December 10, 2011 Author Posted December 10, 2011 THE RUSTY: "RAT RUNNERS" (DOUBLE SHOT) "Area 51 UFO Tracker" "THE ZOMBIE CRUSHER" "CALL MY BLUFF" 55 Chevy
Dr. Cranky Posted December 10, 2011 Author Posted December 10, 2011 "WAT!" says EYEGORE. How could he have forgotten this one:
Terror Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 (edited) Nice works Doc.I was wondering what happen to the factory garage dio?The C-300 should be in it. Edited December 10, 2011 by Terror
Dr. Cranky Posted December 10, 2011 Author Posted December 10, 2011 Thanks, maties. Yeah, Terry it's still there and once in a while I put a model on it!
Cool Hand Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Amazing paintwork on all of them. BIOMECH C-300 is my favourite. Your weathering/rust and gunk builds are exceptional and skillfully done.
Dr. Cranky Posted December 10, 2011 Author Posted December 10, 2011 Thanks, Luke. Yes, the rust runs deep in the blood!
Janne Herajärvi Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Awesome year from you Dr..... Cant wait next one
RTK434 Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Great builds! I love the "CALL MY BLUFF" 55 Chevy! Have any more pics of it?
peekay Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Great to see all those creations in one place Doc! Your WIPs were among the year's modeling highlights for me. (Even though I just build factory stock and the odd hot-rod myself). Keep the "eye-candy" coming in 2012. PS. Did you forget the 50 Chevy pick-up?
Dr. Cranky Posted December 10, 2011 Author Posted December 10, 2011 Ah, yes, I almost forgot that one, I can see why I built it at the same time as CALL MY BLUFF. Good memory, Peter.
peekay Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Thanks Doc. I sent pictures of that one to family and friends who have no interest in model cars, just to show them it can be an art form. They were all very impressed.
Dr. Cranky Posted December 10, 2011 Author Posted December 10, 2011 Thanks, Peter. I find that most people out there have a similar opinion of model building. Many think it's too much time put in to end up with a scale model. I always get the same question: how much time do you put in to building a model? I always answer he same way--OH ABOUT 50 YEARS! People don't realize that most great hobbies, like this one, are about the person doing them, on a journey, etc . . . it's about the learning and the community. Personally, I believe building models is an art form that rises above hobby status.
krazyglu Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Dr. you truly are a craftsman....I have been watching some of your weathering techniques on the tube, but I will Have to talk one on one with you when I try my first weathering project. Impressive collection you have turned out this year and all are really unique. I enjoyed all of them, but I still have to say the VW is my favorite for several reasons. Keep sharing and keep teaching Cranky
Dr. Cranky Posted December 10, 2011 Author Posted December 10, 2011 Thanks, Steven. Weathering is fun. Shiney builds are too, but they require nerves of steel!
Dr. Cranky Posted December 10, 2011 Author Posted December 10, 2011 Thanks, Roger. I appreciate the kind words.
jeffs396 Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Great work as we've come to expect from you Virgil! I LOVE the garage/warehouse that "So Freakin' Blue" is pictured in! Can I send a few of my builds to you for a photoshoot? Did I miss your build of that diorama?
Dr. Cranky Posted December 10, 2011 Author Posted December 10, 2011 Jeff, I think there's a video of it on the YOUTUBE CHANNEL. Here's the link to the Fotki Archive: http://public.fotki.com/vsuarez666/voodoo-customs-chop-shop/dioramas/garage-interior-pho/Thanks for the kind words, chap!
Luis Ayala Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Hi Virgil !!! Amazing collection, you are really a master on weathering. I like them all but my favorite is the "BIOMECH C-300". The paint job is absolutely beatiful !!!
Agent G Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Virgil, I absolutely love your stuff shiny or not. How do you like the AK Interactive line? I've been resisting the purchase of everything they offer as I have always been able to do most with what I've got. Feel free to PM me and we'll chat, I have a bunch of questions. G
