I have a set of 315's I got from Dom on YB a couple years back. Not sure if he is making them anymore.

I guess it looks okay. Haha Amazing work as always Dave! See you and your camera on Friday.

1-8 scale 69 camaro pro mod (mike hill's car)

That 37 looks familiar. LOL -
Almost a year later and I finally dug this back out to finish it. Will take some pics tomorrow of the finished model.

13th Super September Showdown coming 9/9/2012!
RTK434 replied to Daniel Peterson's topic in Contests and Shows
Can't believe it's been a year already since the last one. Maybe I'll actually bring something to show finally. -
Either choice would be good. Another option would be a Rossler TH210 which is based on a TH400. Alot of the fast turbo guys are running these now and have found them to be quicker than a glide due to the extra gear. http://www.rosslertrans.com/

This will be my first time attending. After seeing all the amazing pictures from the years past I finally will be able to see it in person. I can't wait!

The rear wheels are from the WJ superman firebird. They are narrowed with pro track bead lock rings. The fronts are from pro track.
-
I agree about the hood. I have a referance pic of a 1/1 10.5 Nova and it really is that high but I'm not sure I like it. As for color I'm thinking a blue of some variety.
-
A couple early mock up pics of the outlaw drag radial 69 Nova I'm working on. I have to thank Dom for the killer tires. That's been a major hold up for me on a couple projects. Nothing much actually done yet. Just getting some ideas.
-
I'm in the process of gathering some pieces for a ODR 69 nova with a set of Dom's 315's under it. I also have a set of his 275's for an X275 car. I may do a duster? I also have a stock suspension 67 chevelle I started awhile back. There are some pictures of that on the board here if you search my posts. As for 1/1 I have an 85 Camaro with a nitrous small block. I ran X275 last season at Cecil County. Making some changes this year to the run the new ultra street class they are going to try running.

I have some small tire builds coming as well in both 1/25 and 1/1. I just got my 275's and 315's from you today. I'm radialtireking on YB. Outlaw105...Killer start!!!! Can't wait to see this thing come together.

Any feedback on this paint booth
RTK434 replied to RTK434's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That's what I was wondering about. It seems like everyone I look at has this warning. -
Anybody have this paint booth. It seems kind of cheap which makes me wonder if it's any good. I really need to get something. Way too cold to paint outside. Sprayed the last couple in the basement with the window open but the wife isn't really thrilled with the smell. Would love to buy a better one but just spent a ton of money on new heads for the race car so my fun budget is low right now. Thanks for any info! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230714191671&category=28111&_trksid=p5197.c0.m619

How Do You Use Your Decals?
RTK434 replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The beauty of building a model is you can do what ever you want to it. That being said I try very hard to make sure the decals are of the era of the car I'm building. If it's a drag car built as it would have been campainged in the say early 60's the decals should be of the same era. Most of the aftermarket companies have changed there logo many times over the years. I like to use the version from the era I'm modeling. Also some brands either were not around at the time or may not have made any parts that would have been used on that style race car. Growing up around drag cars and racing since I could drive makes me extra fussy about this subject. -
Thanks. The blower is painted with testors metalizer. I think it is magnesium but I'm not 100% sure. The motor and chassis parts were painted over a year ago.
-
Thanks for the comments everyone. The paint is bright aqua pearl from the model masters custom lacquer line.

Great builds! I love the "CALL MY BLUFF" 55 Chevy! Have any more pics of it?

1-8 scale 69 camaro pro mod (mike hill's car)
RTK434 replied to comp1839's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Looking forward to watching this one. Mike's new car is beautiful. Doug and the rest of the Precision Chassis crew did an amazing job on the 1:1 and I'm sure your scale version will be just as amazing! -
Dug this one back out and finished it up tonight. Mostly OAB build. Front suspension was lowered and some plug wires were added. Thanks for looking!
-
Awesome start! Can't wait to see more.
-
No problem. It's one of my favorite kits right now. I have a few more versions in the works.
-
It's the COPO kit but I used the cowl hood from the original 2 in 1 release. I wanted to use the flat hood but it wouldn't clear.
-
That did cross my mind. I'm actually gathering parts to build Don's car very soon.
