SSNova70 Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Hey guys, this is my F&F '70 charger. I plan on making it like a corporate owned car, and I would really appreciate help. I plan on making this my most detailed model yet and I welcome everyone's comments. I will post pictures later today.
Mr. Moparman Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 That kit is more '69 with a crooked front bumper, do yourself a favor and get Missing Link Resins Revell '70 Trans kit. It is way more detailed that this AMT thing
SSNova70 Posted December 11, 2011 Author Posted December 11, 2011 Thanks for the advice Mr. Moparman, I realized when I was test-fitting the body that the molding was just not very good at all. This is what I am going for. http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i30/nk15268a/1970Charger_beauty2-1.jpg
Mr. Moparman Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Yep, that's not going to happen with that kit you've got.
Mr. Moparman Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 http://www.missinglinkrc.com/Chrysler.html 1970 Charger $60 First one
SSNova70 Posted December 11, 2011 Author Posted December 11, 2011 I am hoping this will be on ebay because I am trying not to spend a butt-ton of money on this thing. I might just make do with what I have
SSNova70 Posted December 11, 2011 Author Posted December 11, 2011 What do you think about the Revell '69 Charger kit?
Mr. Moparman Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 It's WAY better than what you have, that's for sure! It builds up great, FULL detail!
Mr. Moparman Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Here is what I cobbled up using Modelhaus parts on a F&F Charger http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=42047&hl=&fromsearch=1 THIS IS ONLY FOR REFERANCE, NO HIJACKING HAS BEEN INSTAGATED!
SSNova70 Posted December 11, 2011 Author Posted December 11, 2011 Niiiice, that's a good looking model there. Just hoping this will cooperate me, I think I will work on this one for a little bit and if it sucks, then I will just get the revell kit

SSNova70 Posted December 11, 2011 Author Posted December 11, 2011 Gaaaaaahhhh! My bad http://s1178.photobucket.com/albums/x362/MrSSNova70/
Guest Sickfish Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 G'day mate... Gotta agree with fellow Mopar bro... Either get the M.Link '70 trans-kit & Revell 68-69 charger kit, for donor engine/chassis etc or don't bother. I'm only saying this because the Mpc Dukes/F'n'F charger kits are junk. Converting one of these, depending on your abilities, is nothing short of wasting time/effort & you probably won't get it looking as good as the M.L kit. Especially if, as you've said, you want to make it the best/most detailed build you want to do? It might be just me but I really don't see the need to waste alotta time & energy making a highly detailed Charger, when your starting point is with a junk kit... ?? I do however, respect, your desire, to at least try. It's a skill-builder/confidence builder, when you attempt & succeed with projects like this. I admire that! Personally though, I'll be getting at least 2 of the 70 trans-kits for my stash... ;-) On another note, I have yet to see someone convert either the F/F or Dukes Charger into a proper '70. Although I have seen some really awesome '69s made out of these kits.... Here's what's possible.... This guy built this out of the F/F kit.... Viper motor... Full rear/front suspension... All customized.... It's jaw-droppingly brilliant...
Guest Sickfish Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 2 more.... Anyway, cheers & good luck with whatever choice you make, Cliffo :-)
SSNova70 Posted December 11, 2011 Author Posted December 11, 2011 Dang, that charger is amazing. Yeah I was running into some problems with the rear, it's just not cooperating. So I think later today I am going to go buy the revell kit and then try and find something else to do with this model. Thanks sickfish
SSNova70 Posted December 11, 2011 Author Posted December 11, 2011 Took some pictures of the charger on the frame with it's wheels, and a picture of the engine currently. http://s1178.photobucket.com/albums/x362/MrSSNova70/
SSNova70 Posted January 4, 2012 Author Posted January 4, 2012 New Update: The body is about 98% done, the frame is around 90% done, interior has not been started, and the engine is about 90% done. I am actually not very upset with this kit, however I would not recommend it to anyone! http://s1178.photobucket.com/albums/x362/MrSSNova70/
