Neat build, but the Starfire was an actual Oldsmobile product...much cooler than it's brother the Impala imho...and why I made a beeline to the thread when I saw the title.

Hmm. Actually, I have two spare Olds bodies....dangit there's another project to add to the list. :D

Mirror was okay and Starfire is even better.....but (in my twisted mind) "Pegasus" tickles my fancy.

Thanks Don!

This thing is so darn cool, good job. I know I have a full work bench but your Starfire has inspired me to tackle an oooold stalled project consisting of a certain '33 Ford and space shuttle kit.

I love the "Rough Boy" video

Ira, the white glue tip is excellent and I can see how it works beautifully.

Thank you Dr.!

I use it all of the time. It covers many mistakes...

UP IN THE AIR!!!

Working on a way to insert a length of Piano Wire into STAR FIRE so that it Floats...

I started with 3 lengths of plastic tubing, each cut to about 3/8" long.

Then I glued them together.

I made 2 of these, 1 for the base...

Next I measured to find center and drilled the hole in the access panel at that point.

Then I glued the 3 Tube Assembly on the inside of the access panel, over the hole.

Here's the other assembly glue to the inside of the plastic display base.

A hole was drilled through the base too.

UNDERSIDE VIEW!!!

Here is the underside, showing the Interior held together with Straping Tape, then glued later.

The 3 Piece Assembly fits right in the center of the rear seat, at the highest point.

Here is the Access Panel in Place.

The Vertical Thrusters are Low Rider Wheels...

CHOPPED THE BUBBLETOP!!!

I've almost got STAR FIRE Finished and I decide the front of the Bubbletop is too tall...so I slice 1/4" off the front bottom, with a Cutting Wheel in a Dremel Tool.

I used different grades of Sandpaper to Smooth the bottom edge of the Bubble top.

I'm Happy Now!!! :D

I got a similar car (not flying) I wanted to do. It is a modern take on a 59 Impala. Model 59-409 Chevrolet Impala.

Nice Drawing Terry!

Ira, Looks great!

You and Star Fire should cruise over to Phoenix for Desert Scale Classic on April 21! We'd love to see some of your work on the tables!

Just saying ...
