I've seen some cool flying car models lately, but this one has got to be the best of the best. Everything you've done to chop up the 59 has been right on the money.

Thanks for the kind words Alyn, Glad you like it!

Coming along nicely, Ira. I like the rear look just as it is. Maybe add a trim piece kinda like the 1:1 between the thrusters.

Thanks for your kind comments James!

Ira, are you considering any type of special base or backdrop for it? Just curious.

Hey Dr. Magnets. This thread keeps bringing up a nagging question I have... Do you think there's a way to levitate this with reverse pole magnets? Maybe strong magnets in a base and secure the the vehicle with hair strands or very fine filament to keep it from falling over? Would there be just too much weight?

MORE FINS!!!

I traced the bottom opening shape onto sheeet plastic and cut it out to make an access hatch.

Next I attached 4 "Triangle" Plastic Strips onto the new access hatch, leaving a little overhang on the ends...

Here it is in place!

Yes Dr., I was thinking about "Floating" Mirror above the fog in San Francisco!

I might support the car with a length of polished piano wire, above an aerial photo base...

Getting Ready for the BUBBLE!

I attached the dashboard, filled in the low spots with putty and sanded it smooth.

More Interior Mods...

Took out the big Trans Hump & replaced it with a low profile console.

I carved this piece of plastic to fit on the shelf behind the rear seats.

This addition extends the console all the way to the body edge.

Here is the latest interior mock up.

By the way, I reduced the width of the interior to fit inside the bubble top.

Love it! I have a very rough 59 Impala that this gives me inspiration for!
