BigBad Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 (edited) I have been looking at the developmant of this little project for quite a while now. Edited April 26, 2012 by BigBad
jacobus Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 robert, looks like the freightliner argosy looks nice koos
Ben Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 Good to see that it's available. KFS was going to have it in thier lineup but the licensing prevented that.
mistermodel Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 Awhile ago the trademark police either read it here or were told about it from someone here that a guy was selling paccar logos and had to stop.hope that doesnt happen with this
QCDOC Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 robert, looks like the freightliner argosy looks nice koos Just don't pronounce the name of that truck. It must be a similar situation to the "Yellow Engine" we keep reading about.
monkeyclaw Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 I am guessing that you guys are referring to my "yellow engine" ? I don't take any offense at all; it's just the easiest way to get parts and conversions out that are "similar" to real truck items.... I spent just about 400 hours mastering that one; and it's nice to be able to give other modelers the opportunity to use it in their trucks....BTW; If you liked the "yellow engine" moniker, you are gonna love the "motown six-oh!" in 1/16 scale ..........Matt
monkeyclaw Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Bob; You get it! I wasn't sure HOW to read it at first...but I know you get it now....having been around the block at least a couple of times with this issue....I finally figured out the path of least resistance.....like you said.....Most modelers know WHAT it represents, so it doesn't really matter what I call it; well as long as I don't call it a TM name ..........Matt
skulls Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 This reminds me of the "18 wheels" series of games for the pc, they ran into soo many copyright issues with it, and well they got rather creative with the names for the trucks to keep them similar...But differant.
scale trucker Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 i wish the copywright people would just leave us alone..we are not hurtin anyone..besides cat dont make truck motors anymore..only cause the newer ones are junk...
skulls Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 Why would they just let them use the rights for the trademark name for a fair fee with a stipulation of being able to see the final product to make sure it passes a quality test? Because isnt that there biggest problem? They dont want there name going on just any ###### out there. Its also amazing how something as simple as a toy can alter a deal any anything from buying a new car at the dealership up to buying a truck, if they have a model of some sort to relate to there vehicle it will intice them to buy it more. Crazy, but its true.
jekylljr Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 nice lookin freig.........i mean no name cabover nice job on er, being a cabover lover nice to see a few in 1/24 scale, now if theyd only bring back the international cabover 1/24 scale 9670 would look good hooked up to an end dump gravel trailer..... merry christmas ,hope santa is good to all !!
jekylljr Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 for a cabover lover i cant wait to see that international c/o come back....also for Z06bob did u get the ford kit built?? wanna sell it?or trade?
jekylljr Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 true price is steep......would love to see a 77-80 transtar in 1/24 scale....also 81-88 freightliner c/o international should come out with a new cabover bring back the classic lines of a transtar perhaps.... lonnng live cabovers!!!!!!!!
cowboysevens Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 I to would love to see more of the cabovers modeled, but I think in all reality the only cabovers we are gonna see besides resin are the ones that have allready been on the shelves in the past. There's just not enouph of us ol.der or nestalgic guys left out there to buy em up. But I always hold a reserve for hope lol!!
CDA Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 Was thinking. Moebius has the awesome deal with International, Couldn't they produce a Transtar, or even an Emeryville?! Back when our beloved trucks first came out as models, International was one of the first to make a deal with the licensing. Just my two cents! Charlie
BigBad Posted December 28, 2011 Author Posted December 28, 2011 Was thinking. Moebius has the awesome deal with International, Couldn't they produce a Transtar, or even an Emeryville?! Back when our beloved trucks first came out as models, International was one of the first to make a deal with the licensing. Just my two cents! Charlie Moebius is on a roll, you never know. Remember Ertl, they modeled almost everything International Harvester at the time... Here's hoping!
Jim B Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 Think Round2 will ever reissue the Transtar II COE?
CDA Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 To see a cabover on the highway anymore is a treat! To be able to buy them for under 80 bucks from Ebay would be awesome!
cargostar Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 Its too bad that the Ertl Transtar has so many flaws in the cab when they changed the tooling from the CO4000 to the Transtar. I'd still buy several cases.....
Jim B Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 What's wrong with the Ertl cab? Is it still closer to the CO4000?
cavejohnson Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 I'd love to see either a resin or one of the big names make a Freightliner Powerliner or some of those newer Aussie KW cabovers.
