We are going to Paris at week 8. And of course, needs to find model shop. If you know any of them, please let me know. It's quite difficult to search while everything is written in French language, and I don't understand single word of it.

Trust me, if you are in Paris, you MUST go to Au Chat Botte:

http://loisirs.118000.fr/v_paris_75/c_modele-reduit-detail/e_au-chat-botte_0142504162_C0000229666

It is more important than seeing that metal scrag they make all this fuss about. How does a resin Citroen H-Van in 1/24 sound to you?

Next in line would be Tonyshop:

Then there is AJC:

There are more, a lot more. But by the time you are through these three, you will be so broke that you can't afford a sack of bull durham.

Please let me know if you want more nevertheless. Diecast perhaps? Trains? Honestly, you go to modellers heaven if you so much and set your foot into France.

Thanks, Christian!

Au Chat Botte and Tony Shop are something, where I need to visit. AJC is bit far away, but I might visit there also. Great thanks for that info. B)

you should, at least, go to the tower and carry along a scale ruler, and make a big show of taking measurements.

if anybody ask, tell them you are building a 1:1 scale model of it back home.

You're going to Paris and you're wasting your time looking for hobby shops?

Just don't mention it to the significant other!

 Well, you guys just don't get it. From here, Finland. It's three hours flight to Paris. Last winter, we came to Orlando, Florida. It was 16 hours travel, with one plane change etc. Then, I visited two model shops, and no one wasn't asking, why I'm visiting them... As I said, I visited in two model shops, and then Daytona Speedway, and some of those Universal Studios etc. Last summer, we were in Rome, Italy. I visited in one Model shop there... If I remember correctly, it was 3 page thread here and no one suggested model shops to visit there... But I found one, good one. I visited there, and of course those traditional Colosseums, Vatican etc. I can post pictures, if you don't believe it. Now when I'm going to Paris, visiting in Model Shops takes few hours of that tourney, Museums, and that Eifel Tower etc. are on the list too, of course. So why not to do them both? Traditional places to visit, and model shops?

You have more than 10 hours flight to Paris, guys. It's bit different than my 3 hour flight. ;)

Au Chat Botte is a traditional place to visit. It's been there forever. It was already there when I visited the first time in the late Seventies and it is still there.

And last time I went it was open, whereas the girder mast and the store room for old pictures were closed.

That's it, I'm back from the Paris. Great place, and luckily people understand english and they speak it too. I visited in two shops.

-Eol Paris

3 Rue Du Louvre

Great shop with lots of diecasts and RC stuff. Some model cars too, mostly Japanese or European. Some Rally Cars too, but they were new ones, oldest ones were maybe 90's. Some Evergreen stuff and great selection of paints. I found one paint there, which was pretty close of BMC Engine Green. Pretty close to Louvre museum, so location was good.

-AJC

78 Rue Des Pyrénéés

Small shop with lots of stuff inside. Not much room to walk or look for the model kits, but just enough. Lots of diecasts too, but many models from American cars. Some European cars and RaceCars too. I really liked this shop, and prices were great. Location is little minus, but luckily Paris has nice Metro, so it was possible to drive on right street. Some walking was needed to find correct number from that street, but the shop was worth it. I bought '70 Challenger and '10 Mustang there.

Sad thing was, that there was no time to visit in Au Chat Botte. :( But it looks like four days is not enough for big city like Paris. Maybe next time we have to stay longer and visit more model shops.

Of course visited at Eifel Tower, Louvre, Moulin Rouge (not inside, though), Notre Dame and some others, which are too difficult to write correctly.

Beautiful isnt it, despite what some say.

One of the worlds most iconic landmarks. I even bought one of those glass tacky flashing towers from an immigrant seller as a reminder, €3

Yeah it is. And pretty high too. Can't believe that it's built to 1989 "World's Fair". And the idea was that they take it apart after that World Fair thing was over. Luckily they didn't.

We were on the second floor. Pretty high, even if it don't look like it from the picture. It's only on halfway through the tower, but we could'n get to the top because elevator was broken.
