promo55 Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 Can the new issues of Revell's '40 & '48 Ford convertibles be built showroom stock? I missed these kits the first time around and a friend had his "Pro Modeler" '40 stolen, so he is intrested, also.
Erik Smith Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 The '48 can - blue car, Good Guys release.
MikeMc Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 (edited) The '48 can - blue car, Good Guys release. I can't say on the GG release........BUT NOT THE CURRENT 48........ If you "overlook" the fact that the top is chopped......Upper is stock, lower is the new kit... This is the "new "48 OOB...fitted with the kits pontoons and skirts. This WIP is all stock parts, wheels and tires included. I did some traditional lowering and by using the "lowered" parts in the box...Got real low....Good news is the frame and suspension are stock or lowered....both suspensions included Edited December 28, 2011 by MikeMc
Casey Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 I think you'll need the original Pro Modeler release of the 1/25 '40 Ford convertible to build it stock.
Erik Smith Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 I think OP says the convertible version. Yes, the new 48 coupe can't be built stock. The last release of the convertible can.
MikeMc Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 I think OP says the convertible version. Yes, the new 48 coupe can't be built stock. The last release of the convertible can. Yes he did...I don't know of a NEW 48 convertable from revell......help me ??
Chuck Most Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 Goodguys '48 Convert can be built stock, as for the '40 Ford only the original Monogram-brand issue and the Pro-Modeler can be built stock, the Goodguys reissue of that has only the hot rod parts.
Matt T. Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 I think if you combine the Revell Goodguys '40 Deluxe convertible with a Revell '40 Standard Coupe (green build on box) for the underpinnings, you can get a stock '40 'vert (aka Pro Modeler).
Chuck Most Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 You should be able to do that fairly easily. All three were based on the same basic tooling.
promo55 Posted December 29, 2011 Author Posted December 29, 2011 Thank you all for your replies. I will get the current '48 locally, but will try to find a "Pro Modeler" kit later. Right now, I am setting up a new place to build models. I moved into another state 3 months ago, the work is slow, but sure!
